A Stepping Stone To Inclusion:
Arc In The Park is an exciting project for children and young people with disabilities and/or additional needs which offers a year-round, seven days a week programme of clubs, activities and services focused on preparing, enabling and supporting young people into inclusive opportunities and positive progression in Newham, East London. Arc In The Park is a safe, fully
accessible and enabling hub. The centre has medium and large activity spaces, a group work and training space, a multi-sensory room, computer suite, music area, kitchen and chill-out spac. Outdoors the centre has the largest adventure play space in London. It has a challenge course with ten obstacles or challenges, gardening and raised flower beds, incouding a hidden garden space, a water feature that gets everyone wet in the summer and a sports space. Arc In The Park offers opportunities to children and young people and their families each year. We offer services to individuals experiencing disabilities from across the whole spectrum including learning disabilities, visual and hearing disabilities, autism, asbergers, combined and multi disability. Our services respond to all levels of severity of disabilities from individuals with mild conditions to young people with severe and/or challenging behaviour to require one to one support. Additionally, we offer services to young people with life-limiting conditions. Lastly, we are developing innovative and successful community-based support programmes for young people who are mentally ill. Arc In The Park provides the only structured activities for all those attending. All our young people have, within the overall programme, their own personal development plan and targets to be achieved. Our aims for each young person, regardless of their degree of need is to:
* Raise personal confidence, esteem and belief to enable positive and sustained progression into inclusive opportunities.
* To contribute and support each young person to achieve their full attainment, personally, socially and educationally.
* To enable each young person to have a good time within a safe and supportive environment. Arc In The Park Needs
Help to fund our year-round after school clubs, weekender clubs, youth groups, sports activities, holiday schemes or early steps work with the under fours and our bridging programmes supporting young people in their transition to inclusion. Help through funds to keep our buildings and resources up to date and fit for purpose, for new resources and equipment to enable Arc to work with young people and to maintain the specialist resources we need to help all children with needs towards inclusion. Help through volunteers to help with various clubs and programmes, and volunteers to help maintain the buildings and grounds and to help build new resources and facilities.
