Both Houses have now risen for conference recess, and will return on Monday 12 October 🍂

Earlier this week, UK House of Commons considered all stages of the Sovereign Grants Bill. Bills on the representation of the people and railways were debated earlier this week in UK House of Lords.

The UK House of Commons and the UK House of Lords will return from summer recess and resume business at 2.30pm today.

Business in the House of Commons will start with Foreign Office questions. The main business will be debates on the Sovereign Grant and the Impact of Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation.

Members of the House of Lords will discuss topics including working-age welfare reform, tax and business competitiveness, and the Public Office (Accountability) Bill.

A Historic Farewell: Art as Witness to the Lying-in-State of Queen Elizabeth II

During the Lying-in-State in Westminster Hall, six UK artists observed and recorded the ceremony and the activity surrounding it. The artworks now form part of the Parliamentary Art Collection and are on display for the first time in this exhibition.
