πŸ’™ On 30 July, we mark 𝐖𝐨𝐫π₯𝐝 πƒπšπ² π€π πšπ’π§π¬π­ π“π«πšπŸπŸπ’πœπ€π’π§π  𝐒𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬.

Human trafficking is a serious violation of human rights that exploits vulnerable people through coercion, deception and abuse. It can take many forms, including forced labour, sexual exploitation, forced marriage and organ trafficking.

As part of the UN's , Belgium reaffirms its commitment to preventing trafficking, protecting victims, prosecuting perpetrators and strengthening international cooperation.

This year's theme, "Trapped Behind the Scam", highlights how traffickers increasingly use fraudulent schemes to lure victims into exploitation.

Let's bring human trafficking out of the shadows and raise awareness of the signs. Together, we can help protect the most vulnerable and support survivors.

Belgian Cenotaph Parade 2026 πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

As is tradition, Belgian and British military personnel gathered in the heart of London on Saturday for the annual Belgian Cenotaph Parade.

This solemn ceremony pays tribute to the Belgian servicemen and women who gave their lives during the First and Second World Wars, while also commemorating the enduring friendship and shared history between Belgium and the United Kingdom.

Military personnel from the Royal Military Academy, the Royal School for Non-Commissioned Officers, naval and air force cadets, alongside numerous veterans, proudly carried the Belgian tricolour through the streets of London.

During the ceremony, wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Minister ElΓ©onore Simonet laid two wreaths on behalf of Belgium.

The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Van Strythem, Colonel Van Belle, Ambassador Cooreman, and Consul-General Van Glabeke, underlining the importance of this longstanding tradition.

Belgium remains the only country outside the Commonwealth to enjoy the unique privilege of parading armed troops on British soil.

This exceptional honour reflects our shared wartime history and stands as a powerful symbol of the close and lasting ties between Belgium and the United Kingdom.
