Heron Way Community Allotment Assoc'

Heron Way Community Allotment Assoc' HWCAA welcomes all to our communal growing allotment, learning horticulture & allotment keeping together, whilst improving the local enviroment.

HWCAA is an open access allotment for all the community, based on principles of permaculture, chemical free, nature friendly, native wildflowers. No matter your skill set, time commitment or availability - everyone is equal and welcome here. We are on a site at an allotment owned by the London Borough of Hounslow at F***s Road/Heron Way, Feltham. The Allotment has a number of chemical free growing

beds and poly-tunnel so you can experience growing from seed all the way through, we have some livestock, orchard trees, summer fruits, herbs, flowers and all the wildlife that goes with them. There are hives on site managed by a professional bee-keeper. Sundays are our main day of activity - but leave a message for us on Facebook as we do pop down there at impromptu times during the week so can meet you and orient you and get you started. There's no pressure to do it "the right way" as nature has no right or wrong ways it's just nature...sometimes things grow well sometimes they don't but learning and experiencing it is where it's at....

So if you are all fingers and thumbs or green fingered impresario come on down and join us. Help us improve our miniature farm, weeding, planting, spreading compost, maintenance and improvement of our facilities. Meeting good people. Donation of things such as building materials, timber, gravel, paving slabs and any farming materials would be much appreciated. Annual Membership is £25

Finally some rain, gentler sun, wind and generally cooler days.. hence the Muntjac having a good old root around the path turning it over and digging holes with their special "tooth" - a family of cabbage bugs and several cabbage white about... the eternal UK butterfly that's one of the first to come out and last to leave so I for one am glad to see them still some nice days to come
