New Cross Learning New Cross Learning is a Community Hub with Library Services, internet access, IT help, charity drop-ins, clubs and space for event hire.

Help us to stay open by donating at: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/keepnxlopen2025 New Cross Learning, AKA New Cross People's Library, is a community-run library, writing, arts and IT centre. We run coding clubs, baby bounce, knitting (Saturday afternoons) and crochet (Wednesday afternoons) classes and provide IT training and CV writing (Wednesday lunchtime) and IT and mobile phone technical

help from 11am on Saturdays. We run a periodic film club on Saturday evenings. From November to March, we run a warm bank providing hot and cold drinks and snacks. We also have book and DVD sales. Finally, you can get documents scanned, printed and photocopied at low cost. Every Tuesday lunchtime we host a local housing, debt and benefits advice charity called Community Advice Works (CAW) providing free advice on a first come first served basis. We are always looking for volunteers so drop by and fill out a form! We accept book and DVD donations too, so if you are looking to make some room, bring down your surplus stock and we'll take it off your hands. New Cross Learning administers this page. Book Launch - Neoliberalism and Urban Regeneration

London is a major global city which attracts a massive influx of capital while concentrating power and wealth in the hands of the few. Meanwhile, many communities suffer housing shortages, poverty and dispossession. How can its diverse communities fight back against exclusionary regeneration projects?

This accessible book tells the story of the Voice4Deptford campaign in Southeast London, which has taken radical democratic and creative action to resist the destructive influence of neoliberalism at the community level. It shows how top-down change is challenged and, together with case studies from across London, offers powerful ways forward for other urban communities globally.

Door open 6.30pm start time 7pm. Finish time will be 8:30 pm followed by book signing and light refreshments.
