Have you ever seen a blue marlin? 🐟

Blue marlins are mostly found in the tropical and subtropical parts of the Atlantic Ocean, so when this enormous fish washed up on a Pembrokeshire beach, it was quite the surprise!

It’s been on display in Hintze Hall since 2017. Let us know if you’ve seen it before in the comments! 👇

Horn-estly, this is one of our favourite skeletons in Museum! 🦴😮

If you’ve visited our Mammals Hall, you’re probably familiar with our blue whale model but you might’ve missed this skeleton! It’s called Arsinoitherium and it lived in Africa about 36-27 million years ago.

Have you ever noticed it? 🤔

We’re having a whale of a time over here! 🐳

This is our 1930s blue whale model - it was created before anyone had ever properly studied a living whale! To design it, its makers had to rely on images of carcasses stranded on beaches.

Would you like to learn more about this model and how it was made? Let us know in the comments! 👇
