Our Community Cares

Our Community Cares Our Community Cares is a community organisation in Canning Town that provides a range of support services for vulnerable women in East London.

Our mission is to work with women experiencing conflict in the home, to enable them to achieve personal fulfilment by working with them, their families and other agencies to meet a range of support needs. We focus on engaging women that are either illiterate or non-speakers of the English language. By helping them to develop their language capability and functional skills we can support them in ac

cessing services and broadening their horizons. Working with our service users in groups and on a 1-2-1 basis means that we can personalise our support and respond to individual needs. We also bring these women together for group personal development and, in doing so, are able to develop positive support networks that they can use to socialise, share experiences and provide emotional support and advice to one another. We aim to give our service users a voice and to use this to inform the way we provide our services and influence change amongst decision makers locally.

She adopted him when he was just a baby. A tiny Black boy, full of promise. Years later, she watched him graduate—beaming with pride. 🎓 Different colors. Same heart. Love doesn’t need matching skin—just a forever kind of bond. 💖

Together we can change the world, just one random act of kindness at a time. Be kind to each other especially at this time of uncertainty.
