A question we love to hear at Poppy's is "I want this as part of the funeral...is that even possible?!"

When a client has an idea for a unique or personalised detail, we will always go above and beyond to make it a reality.

Whether that's a hot pink vehicle and coffin; traditional hats and tails; a powerful rowers' guard of honour; a motorcycle and side car hearse, or something else entirely - it is surprising how much is possible when it comes to crafting a unique and personalised funeral.

Many people don't know that you don't need to have registered your person's death before you speak to a funeral director.

In fact, as our Client Support Advisor Gemima explains, talking to a funeral director (or more than one) can help you understand your options and what matters to you when it comes to a funeral.

Some questions you can ask funeral directors you speak to might be:
🧡 How and where will they take care of your person?
🧡 If you have specific times, dates or location in mind, are they able to offer you a funeral that reflect this?
🧡 Will you be able to visit your person, if that’s something you want?
🧡 How does pricing work, and how flexible can they be to help you make the choices that are important to you?

We're here if you need us. Call 020 3589 4726, or visit our website to generate a no-obligation estimate.

This is what will happen, step by step, when you arrange a funeral with us.

The role of the Coroner’s Office is to establish someone's cause of death, or to investigate causes that appear unnatural. This means a death that hasn't stemmed from a naturally occurring illness or disease.

Once a Coroner is investigating a death, the funeral of the person who has died cannot take place until the Coroner has said it can.

It can be very confusing and distressing for friends and family if their person's death needs to be investigated by the Coroner.

Maddison Pilcher worked as a Coroner’s Officer and various other related roles for twelve years. She spoke to Poppy's about what Coroners do and the role Coroner’s Officers play in the process.

We hope this conversation will make the process clearer, and hopefully reduce some of the stress and overwhelm many friends and family members feel when navigating a Coroner's investigation.
