The exhibition presents new works produced by seven contemporary London based artists, responding explicitly to a selection of international artists’ work in the idiosyncratic private collection of late Greek artist Nikos Alexiou. Archival footage of the complete collection and Nikos Alexiou's last made work, entitled 'Grid' will be also featured in the exhibition. Incorporating diverse readings,

the show explores the dialectical relationships between artists, and between contemporary collectors and artists. It also alludes to the larger conversation of the artist-as-collector and artist-as-curator.

It was in 2009 when Nikos Alexiou come to visit me in London for the first time, in order to set up his large scale floor installation for my curated group show Celestial Contract (2009)‏, at Schwartz Gallery, London in the area of Hackney wick prior to olympic games gentrification. His excitement was tremendous finding out that i am also working on a symposium paper on his indiosyncratic contemporary art collection presented at the Stephen Lawrence Gallery of University of Greenwich, London, United Kingdon as an introduction and the working process of the exhibition Linear B which was planed to be realised at Stephen Lawerence gallery in 2011. The emotional frustration finding out about his health situation gave me more strength to accomplice my mission and present the most memorable and powerful memorial show run from November 2011 to January 2012 with the great support of the gallery director David Waterworth and Nikos Alexiou, ο Κηπος του estate, Thouli Misirloglou for the beautiful text as well as all the artists who selected works from and responded to the works from Nikos' collection.
