Local Government Boundary Commission for England We are an independent body accountable to parliament. We recommend fair electoral and boundary arrangements. You can help by showing respect for others.

LGBCE’s page has been set up to help the public understand what we do and to encourage them to give views on our consultations. When you engage with us on Facebook you will be talking to a member of the Communications Team. They update and monitor our pages from 0900 – 1700 Monday to Friday except on Bank Holidays. This week, members of our Review team are Investing time in Darlo.

During their visit to Darlington, the team have been exploring various areas of the town to assess proposed ward boundaries, taking into account submission comments from the public, political parties, and community groups on factors such as roads, railway lines, schools, and new developments.

This on-the-ground work is a vital part of the process, helping the team to check whether the boundaries drawn on the map reflect the reality of local communities — before writing up draft recommendations that will be open for consultation on the 5th of May.
