Our Guards Chapel Recital Series returns this month, and we’re kicking things off with a fantastic Jazz Ensemble from the Band of the Welsh Guards. 🎷🎺

🎶 “Working 9 to 5…” 🎺

The Band of the Coldstream Guards were paying tribute to Dolly Parton at Buckingham Palace this morning, performing her iconic hit ‘9 to 5’ during the Changing of the Guard. 🇬🇧🎶

A fitting musical salute to the Queen of Country from one of the British Army’s most famous bands. 👑🤠

Due to continued excessive temperatures this week, including an AMBER heat alert, you may have noticed some important changes to Ceremonial Operations across London and Windsor.

The wellbeing of our soldiers, military working horses, and the public who gather in large numbers to watch these events is always our priority. In line with advice from the Met Office and other Government agencies, who are recommending a reduction in travel and outdoor activities, the following changes are in place this week:

There will be no ceremonial Guard Changes in Windsor or London.

On Friday, the King's Life Guard at Horse Guards will change without ceremony and horse exercise will take place very early when the temperatures are cooler.

While soldiers are on Guard, you may notice they have been moved to shaded positions and are changed more frequently — this is normal practice in hot weather.

We know this is a busy and popular time of year to visit, and we're sorry if this is disappointing. Thank you for your understanding and please do follow the Met Office advice to stay safe in the heat.

👑 Changing of the Guard Ceremony 👑

There’s a Changing of the Guard Ceremony at Buckingham Palace today.

The New Guard will be F Company, Scots Guards, taking over duties from the Old Guard, No. 9 Company, Irish Guards.

🎶 Musical Support
The King’s Guard will be supported by the Band of the Household Cavalry.

Please note there will be no band accompanying the St James’s Palace Detachment today.

📍 Ceremony starts from 10:30am at Wellington Barracks.

Her Majesty The Queen's 7 Guards' Regiments in the British Army. The Household Division is a group of 7 Army Regiments who, in addition to their operational duties, provide Her Majesty The Queen�s Household Troops and support military ceremonial duties and major public events in London.

🏰 The Captain’s Inspection at Buckingham Palace 🎶

The Captain’s Inspection takes place at 3pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Today, Guardsmen from the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards will be inspected before the sentries change duty, accompanied by music from The Band of The Household Cavalry.

🎺 Changing of the Guard – Today at Buckingham Palace 👑

🎥 Here’s a short clip of the Band of the Welsh Guards playing “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”

If you’re in London this morning, come along and enjoy the iconic Changing of the Guard ceremony.

Today’s ceremony features the New Guard from Nijmegen Company, Grenadier Guards, with the Old Guard provided by the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards.

Providing the musical accompaniment will be the Band of the Welsh Guards and the Band of the Household Cavalry, delivering the soundtrack to one of Britain’s most famous ceremonial events.

🕥 The ceremony begins from Wellington Barracks at 10:30am, before making its way to Buckingham Palace.
