A shout out to Charlotte who I met at the bushcraft show. Fantastic hedgerows cocktails at her pop up bar. My favorite was the Hedgerow stinger… made with stinging nettles! As Charlotte said, if they didn’t grow abundantly in the UK we would be importing them as super food! So embrace this overlooked food source!

Meet Kat, one of the LB instructors. It was a muddy day on Sunday but lovely feedback from the parents: Just a note to say thank you so much for such a brilliant party! It was pouring with rain, Kat already had a plan by the time we got there. The boys LOVED it, it was the perfect party for 6 year olds. Kat was brilliant with them, keeping the rounded up and on task, showing and teaching them about the forest. She tailored the program so they could have free play while learning and working together at the same time. They all loved learning to make a fire too. Sausages and hot dogs cooking over the fire, all of it! Paul was brilliant with them too. And the Ukulele songs were great fun. The boys were singing the songs still this morning, according to parents. The rain and mud didn’t bother anyone at all. I think these boys will remember this party as a highlight of their childhood. And it definitely inspired the explorer in all of them.

It was wonderful to run this session for Froglife

This is the oldest and largest London Plane tree in England! Dating back to about 1685 it’s in London and was on land that used to belong to the Archbishop of Canterbury. It’s last measurement was 35m high and 8.23m in girth. If any tree needs a hug, it’s definitely this one!!! Did you know London Plane tree bark can absorb some of the pollutants rather than us breathing it in? Another reason to give thanks to this beauty! Anyone else hugged a tree lately?

Scary hey? I had a go at at making clay but I didn’t get a large amount for my first go. So thought I would make a natural face mask… who said a bushcraft facial is not a thing 😃
