🍝 Cooking up healthy habits and stronger community connections!

Redbridge Cooking Connections recently hosted a live cooking demonstration at the Redbridge Food Partnership's Pop-Up Hub in Ilford Exchange, showing residents how to prepare a healthy, nutritious tomato-based pasta dish on a budget.

The interactive session gave local residents the chance to learn practical cooking skills, ask questions, and discover simple ways to create affordable, balanced meals. Participants also gained valuable knowledge about kitchen safety, food allergens, and how to add more vegetables to everyday recipes.

One resident shared:
💬 "I would never have thought to add celery to my pasta!"

After the demonstration, residents and Redbridge Food Partnership staff enjoyed the freshly prepared tomato-based pasta together, creating a warm and welcoming community atmosphere. The shared meal sparked conversations about favourite recipes, ingredient swaps, and simple ways to adapt the dish to suit different tastes and budgets, showing how healthy cooking can bring people together.
