The Children's Society We fight for the hope & happiness of young people🌈
Taking inspiration from their courage 🦁

The Children's Society fights for the hope and happiness of young people when it is threatened by abuse, exploitation and neglect. We take inspiration from the courage and hope we see in young people every day, fuelling our belief that a good childhood is something every young person deserves.

We fight for hope by deeply understanding the needs of young people, by counselling and supporting the

m through their most serious life challenges. We campaign tirelessly for the big social changes that will transform the wellbeing of young people, striving to improve the lives of those who need hope most.

Driven by hope and working alongside young people and supporters, we will not rest until together, step-by-step, we’ve created a society built for all children.

Young Carers in Space, read by Natalie Cassidy on CBeebies Parenting, is a bedtime story that helps children feel seen and understood.

It can open the door to conversations about caring responsibilities that many young carers recognise.

No child should be exposed to sexually explicit images. Children and young people deserve to be protected and feel safe, wherever they are.

Tech firms have a clear responsibility to act, and introducing controls to prevent the sharing of sexually explicit images is one important measure to prevent harm.

TONIGHT BBC Two's Gardener’s World spotlights the exceptional Ann Lush šŸ“ŗ

Ann has supported The Children’s Society for almost 60 years, running committees, volunteering her time and raising around Ā£300,000.

Ann and her brother were sadly orphaned as children and brought up by her granny. Ann’s granny was private about letting people into their home. Ann thought to herself as a child that if she ever had a garden of her own, it would be open to all.

More than three decades ago, Ann and her late husband Dennis, opened their garden in Penarth to raise money for The Children’s Society. And 30 years later, they’re still doing it!

Ann recalls the kindness she was shown as a child, by other local parents. This kindness inspired her to dedicate herself to helping as many young people as possible.

We are so incredibly grateful to Ann for helping us to make sure children don’t have to face life alone.

This photo of Mary Berry at our Chelsea Flower Show garden reminded us of another time the great chef supported our work.

In November 1984, Mary Berry did a cookery demonstration at Aylesbury Civic Centre to raise money for The Children's Society. The event was organised by Marks and Spencer as part of its centenary celebrations.

At the Chelsea Flower Show, our garden showed what’s possible when young people get the support they need. 🌸 If it moved you, don’t let it end there.

Bring your community together this summer and be part of the change. You could hold an open day or a plant sale, invite everyone to a picnic, or even host a live band.

Caring doesn’t end when the episode does. Did you know young carers existed before this storyline?

Thousands of young people carry these responsibilities every day.

Every generation is supposed to have a better chance in life than the one before it.

But right now, too many young people feel like the opposite is true.

They're growing up in a world that feels harder, less secure and full of new challenges - while the support around them simply hasn't kept up.

Milburn's Review exposes the scale of the challenge facing young people today.

For their emotional health and a hopeful outlook, young people need real support that happens earlier, and genuine opportunities to build a good future.

Are you watching this storyline on Eastenders?

For many young people, this is their reality. Thousands of children and young people care for someone at home, often without recognition or support.
