Poole was one of the largest embarkation points for the D-Day landings in Normandy. Over 5,000 boats carrying more than 41,000 troops left from Poole harbour in June 1944. The Royal British Legion are hosting a short memorial service at 10.50 at the D-Day Memorial situated on the wall at Dolphin Quays, on the eastern end of Poole Quay.

Remembering all those who served during the D-Day landings on 6 June 1944.

Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

new announcement from Reform UK! Hard work will finally earn rewards from the (Reform UK) Government, proving Reform UK really are serious about supporting those that work.

Reform UK's Hard Work Bonus! A Reform Government will end tax on overtime.
Those employees working overtime (roughly 3.2 million workers receive paid overtime) will receive a Hard Work Bonus to help kickstart the economy. They will pay no income tax on those extra hours.

We will institute a new UK-wide uncapped personal allowance for overtime above a 40 hour working week for those earning less than £75,000 (i.e. for 90% of workers).

We will reform related legacy EU law, such as the Working Time Regulations, to ensure that people can (safely) take advantage of this tax break. We will also introduce anti-avoidance rules to stop employers classifying regular working hours as overtime.

Every year Poole’s much loved parks and open spaces fall foul to unauthorised gypsy and traveller camps. Preventing these will be one of our key actions, as Reform UK Poole councillors, in the near future.

We were delighted to elect Poole's first ever Reform UK Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Sheriff at our first Full Council Meeting of the new Poole Town Council. We may not be supportive of the new Town Council concept but we will always support the ancient and unique civic office that is an integral part of Poole's ancient history and culture. Congratulations to Tracey Newman, Mayor, Steve Hayes, Deputy Mayor and Rosemarie Stirk, Sheriff. Abdullah arrived in the UK from Syria in 2023 and was given permanent leave to remain under a family reunion scheme by the Conservative Government.

Just two years later he repayed our country's generosity by ra**ng a 19 year girl in a toilet on Bournemouth beach.

Reform UK will go back, retrospectively, through every single asylum claim granted by the Tories and Labour and deport anyone who entered our country illegally.
