🎨🇦🇬 Creativity Without Borders! 🇯🇪

 

A proud moment for Antigua and Barbuda as the first phase of the Antigua and Barbuda–Jersey Art Exchange concluded with the official unveiling of a stunning collaborative mural at Elizabeth Marina, Jersey.

 
Created under the theme "Safe Haven Across the Sea," the mural celebrates the shared history, culture, and friendship between our two island communities through vibrant depictions of iconic landmarks, native flora, cultural traditions, and the sea that connects us.

 
Congratulations to our talented ABCAS students Joyce Murray-Watkins, Trinity Hughes, and Tse Pigott, who proudly represented Antigua and Barbuda alongside Jersey artists under the mentorship of Mark Brown, Head of Fine Arts and Creative Studies at ABCAS.

 
This inspiring initiative is just the beginning! Later this year, artists from Jersey will travel to Antigua and Barbuda to create a second collaborative mural as part of the lead-up to CHOGM 2026, further strengthening the cultural ties between our islands.

🇦🇬🎶 Antigua and Barbuda's young gospel talent continues to shine on the international stage!

On 22 July 2026, 12-year-old Antiguan gospel artist Enoch Thomas met with Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill, High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda to the United Kingdom.

During the meeting, they discussed Enoch's musical journey and future aspirations. Her Excellency praised him for using gospel music to inspire and uplift young people across the Caribbean and encouraged him to continue pursuing his passion.

Special thanks were also extended to Mr. Bob Foster, organiser of the Caribbean Gospel Festival at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park, for providing Enoch with the opportunity to perform before audiences in the United Kingdom.

A member of the worship team at Jennings Wesleyan Holiness Church, Enoch has already achieved remarkable milestones. Following his collaboration with Jamaican gospel icon Carlene Davis on a reggae rendition of O Holy Night in 2024, he went on to win the inaugural Praise Break Gospel Quest and launched his debut 17-track album, It's My Turn, in Jamaica earlier this year.

Congratulations, Enoch! Your faith, talent, and dedication continue to make Antigua and Barbuda proud. 🇦🇬✨

🎨🇦🇬 Antigua and Barbuda's Young Artists Take Their Talent to Jersey!

Three talented students from the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies (ABCAS)—Joyce Murray-Watkins, Trinity Hughes, and Tse Pigott—along with their tutor Mark Brown, Head of the Department of Fine Arts and Creative Studies, are proudly representing Antigua and Barbuda in an exciting international art exchange with Jersey.

Working alongside Jersey artists, they are creating a public mural at Elizabeth Marina under the theme "Safe Haven Across the Sea," celebrating the shared culture, identity, and creativity of both island nations.

This exchange marks another milestone in the growing partnership between Antigua and Barbuda and Jersey, which has already fostered collaboration in education, leadership, hospitality, sport, music, and now the visual arts. In October, Jersey's artists will travel to Antigua and Barbuda to complete the second phase of the project ahead of CHOGM 2026 and Antigua Art Week.

👏 We congratulate Joyce, Trinity, Tse, and Mr. Brown on this outstanding achievement and wish them every success as they showcase the creativity and talent of Antigua and Barbuda on the international stage.

Celebrating Caribbean excellence and regional unity! 

During London’s celebrations marking the 53rd anniversary of CARICOM, High Commissioner H.E. Karen-Mae Hill was delighted to connect with Antigua and Barbuda’s Chevening Scholars, Latisha Browne and Dr David Francis.

Latisha pursued an MSc in Forensic Investigation at Cranfield University, while Dr Francis was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master’s in Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology at University College London.

They were joined by Lyndia Bowers, President of the Antigua and Barbuda National Association.

A proud moment celebrating educational development, leadership and the continued achievements of Antiguans and Barbudans in the United Kingdom.

🌍 The Road to Continues

As Antigua and Barbuda prepares to host the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), important conversations are already taking place on the role of small states in shaping the global agenda.

At a recent Marlborough House Conversation hosted by the Commonwealth Secretariat, The Rt Hon Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, highlighted the vital role that small states must play in building a fairer and more inclusive international system.

Representing Antigua and Barbuda, High Commissioner Karen-Mae Hill remarked:

"As Antigua and Barbuda prepares to welcome Commonwealth leaders to CHOGM 2026, this conversation could not be more timely. Small states are not asking for a seat at the margins of a new world order; we are asserting our place at its heart. I look forward to a time when the contribution of small states to multilateralism is fully recognised and supported, building on the Commonwealth's decades of championing the voices of small states."

The event also featured The Hon Bill Blair, High Commissioner of Canada to the United Kingdom, and explored how Commonwealth small states can continue to influence global decision-making in an increasingly complex world.

🇦🇬 Antigua and Barbuda looks forward to welcoming Commonwealth leaders this November as we continue these important conversations on partnership, resilience, and shared prosperity.

High Commissioner H.E. Karen-Mae Hill recently welcomed His Excellency Theon Ali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Antigua and Barbuda to the State of Qatar and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda in the United Arab Emirates for a courtesy visit.

Their discussions focused on preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026 and opportunities to strengthen diplomatic engagement in support of a successful Summit.
