Our Italian courses for adult learners start next week, with limited places still available in some classes.

What you need to know:
• Two intakes each year – start in September or February
• A new venue for our in-person classes: Capital City College – Westminster Centre (76 Vincent Square, SW1P 2PD)
• Online courses continue to run live on Zoom
• 18-week programmes with 2-hour weekly lessons, giving you the time to build confidence, deepen your knowledge and progress to the next level

Followed by a Q&A with the director.

Future Classics, in partnership with CinemaItaliaUK, returns marking 100 years since Grazia Deledda was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Following the international conference GRAZIA DELEDDA’S WAVES (25–26 September, Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge), the celebration continues in London with a screening of QUASI GRAZIA (2025) by Peter Marcias.

Three crucial moments in the life of the celebrated Sardinian writer reveal the political dimension of her private life, exploring the relationship between women and literature and the ongoing struggle for women’s voices and freedom.

LA MUSICA NELLE OSSA DI CHRISTIAN ANTONINI

Dopo la pausa estiva, torna il Teen Book Club di IIC Londra, il progetto dedicato a ragazze e ragazzi dagli 11 ai 18 anni, per scoprire insieme il piacere della letteratura italiana.

Il prossimo incontro ci porta nella Mosca del 1960, sulle note proibite del rock and roll.

Anna è una studentessa modello della prestigiosa Stella Rossa, con un futuro già scritto. Ma l’arrivo di Marko, un ragazzo ribelle e misterioso, cambia tutto. Tra feste segrete, riviste clandestine e canzoni proibite, Anna scoprirà un mondo nuovo — e quanto può essere rischioso sfidare le regole.

La musica nelle ossa di Christian Antonini è una storia di amicizia, libertà e coraggio, ambientata in un’Unione Sovietica dove tutto ciò che arriva dall’Occidente è vietato.

Durante l’incontro, i partecipanti potranno parlare del libro e confrontarsi direttamente con l’autore.

BOOK O’CLOCK – Il giardiniere dei sogni

La fine dell’estate si avvicina, ma niente paura: Book O’Clock è pronto a ripartire!

Il book club in lingua italiana dedicato a bambine e bambini dai 4 agli 11 anni e alle loro famiglie, promosso da IIC Londra in collaborazione con l’autrice Gloria Danili e Sial School, torna alla Children’s Room della Victoria Library, a pochi minuti da Victoria Station.

Per il nostro appuntamento di settembre, Gloria Danili ci accompagnerà alla scoperta dell’onirico albo “Il giardiniere dei sogni” di Claudio Gobbetti e Diyana Nikolova, pubblicato da Sassi Junior.

Tra macchine da scrivere, libri volanti, sogni e creature incantate, ci tufferemo in un mondo dove l’immaginazione non ha limiti.

E dopo la lettura? Via con la “grammatica della fantasia” (Cit. Gianni Rodari)! Utilizzando le carte ispirate al libro, i piccoli Book O’Clockers daranno libero sfogo alla creatività e realizzeranno con le proprie mani marionette di carta in 3D: draghi e mostri, bambole, unicorni, uccelli e robot.

EPHEMERAL ARCHITECTURES

Join us ICI London, the Italian Trade Agency London Office (ITA London) and INTERNI Magazine (Interni Magazine) for “Ephemeral Architectures”, a conversation exploring the culture of impermanence, from the Baroque tradition to the contemporary architecture of temporary installations.

Taking place during London Design Festival, the evening brings together leading voices from the worlds of architecture and design:

• Carolina Gismondi de Bevilacqua, Architect, Designer and Vice President of Artemide
• Carola Migliore, Architect and Co-Founder of Reality Is__
• Christina Seilern, Founder and Principal of Studio Seilern Architects

Chaired by Carlo Biasia, Special Projects Architect of INTERNI Magazine.

The evening will open with remarks by Francesco Bongarrà, Director of ICI London; Giovanni Sacchi, Director of the Italian Trade Agency London Office; and Gilda Bojardi, Editor of INTERNI Magazine.
