The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO), in partnership with Viasat, hosted the Commonwealth Partnership Breakfast Meeting on 14 May 2026 at Ankara Hall, BTK Campus, during the Global Symposium for Regulators 2026 in Ankara.

The meeting featured remarks from Bernadette Lewis, Secretary-General of the CTO, and Mohammed Adams Sukparu, Deputy Minister and Chair of the Commonwealth ITU Group. The keynote address was delivered by Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, while Donna Bethea-Murphy led the presentation and discussion session.

The breakfast meeting created an opportunity for Commonwealth representatives and partners to engage in meaningful dialogue on connectivity, innovation and the future of digital transformation across member countries.

The CTO thanks Viasat for co-hosting the meeting and for its continued support in fostering collaboration for digital development.

The Secretary General of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, Bernadette Lewis, met with Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, on the sidelines of the Global Symposium for Regulators 2026 on 13 May 2026 in Ankara.

Ahead of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in November, the Commonwealth ITU Group (CIG) convened at Council 2026 to discuss regional development priorities and the future of digital transformation across the Commonwealth.

The meeting featured a keynote address by H.E. Dr Bosun Tijani, Federal Minister of Communications and Digital Economy of Nigeria and Chair of Council 2026, as well as remarks from H.E. Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations - Ghana, Dr Cosmas Zavazava, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau and Bernadette Lewis, Secretary General - CTO. Delegates also participated in an interactive workshop focused on sharing national experiences and identifying common priorities for digital development.
