The RAF LGBTQ+ Network is delighted to announce the creation of our new Veteran Engagement Pillar.

This exciting new initiative aims to ensure that LGBTQ+ RAF Veterans remain connected with the Network, kept informed of our activities, and invited to events throughout the year.

We will work closely with organisations including Fighting with Pride, Royal British Legion, and other relevant Service charities to strengthen support, engagement, and opportunities for our veteran community.

Whether you left the RAF 30 years ago or just last week, this pillar will be open and accessible to all LGBTQ+ RAF Veterans.

Further details will be announced in the near future, so keep an eye on our channels for updates.

We are delighted to share this announcement of our former Co-Chair of the Network as the newest trustee of Fighting with Pride! As a Network we already work closely with this fantastic charity and this will help make that bond even stronger!

We have great pleasure in welcoming current serving RAF officer Jordan Stafford-Boutwood to our board of trustees.

It is excellent to get more current serving expertise from our community on our board as we work to become a charity that has meaning for ALL members of the LGBTQ+ Armed Forces Community, Veterans pre-ban, veterans, post ban, current serving, reservists, cadet forces, and their families.

This parade unites the LGBTQ+ personnel across the RAF in a display of great pride. This is our chance to celebrate the progress we worked so hard for.

With veteran RAF and the Air cadets following behind London pride is a journey of where we were, where we are, and where we’re going.

As Pride Month begins, the RAF LGBTQ+ Network proudly stands with LGBTQ+ personnel, veterans, families, allies, and the wider community.

This year's Pride Month arrives at a time when many across our community are reflecting on recent developments and the conversations that have followed. For some, these discussions have brought uncertainty and concern. We recognise those feelings and want our community to know that they are seen, valued, and supported.

Pride has always been about visibility, belonging, and the freedom to be your authentic self. It is a celebration of the progress that has been made, while recognising that every individual's experience is unique.

Our commitment remains unchanged. We stand alongside the entire LGBTQ+ community and remain dedicated to fostering a culture of dignity, respect, inclusion, and mutual understanding for all. Whatever the headlines, whatever the debates, people remain at the heart of everything we do.

Throughout Pride Month, we will celebrate our people from across our community, and highlight the strength that comes from embracing diversity across the Royal Air Force.

Happy Pride Month from the RAF LGBTQ+ Network.

For decades, LGBT+ service personnel were forced to hide who they were.

Opening 31 May, David Tovey’s 'The Echoes and Shadows of Identity' is a powerful new installation co-created with LGBT+ veterans and serving personnel, developed to commemorate the end of the Armed Forces ‘gay ban’.

Through lived experience, it explores loss, resilience and the progress towards a more inclusive Armed Forces.
