NNC invited our 5 local MPs to attend a meeting with NNC on Friday in order to discuss local government funding or rather the lack of it and how unfair ‘fair’ funding is for us and our residents. 1 of the 5 MPs attended.

Another busy week already as one of the Oakley Ward councillors.

Monday - Audit and Governance committee meeting (public meeting)

Tuesday - 08:00 to the cube for a party meeting, followed by a meet and greet with Nigel Farage and Jaymey McIvor.

A flying visit up to Danesholme to speak to Anglian Water who were scheduled to do a site visit for repeated flooding on Vara Road

11:00 attending the meeting of the executives as an observer with particular interest in the ongoing taxi/hackney carriage issues across NNC

19:00 Scrutiny Management Board meeting

Wednesday - met with the manager and a member of the board of trustees for Lakelands Hospice Oakley Vale a really great meeting to understand better what they do in the area and see what we can do to support them.

Popped in to the Oakley Vale Community Centre to speak to some of the residents who were there for the warm hub/coffee morning discussing amongst other things:

* the incinerator
* road conditions
* grass verges (no mow May)
* weeds
* street advertising signs banners etc
* overgrown trees/bushes

Place & Environment teams meeting to go through the draft reports for the my upcoming first public meeting for this scrutiny committee.

A couple of phone calls to residents to try and arrange house visits to them for specific problems they need assistance with.
