Streatham Common Cooperative

Streatham Common Cooperative A community run social enterprise managing the Rookery Gardens and conservation projects on Streatham Common.

Lambeth council is looking for new ways to manage our open spaces. The Friends of Streatham Common are delighted to support proposals to establish a new local co-operative to manage the Common and the Rookery. Our vision is to have a dedicated manager for the Common and the Rookery with dedicated staff that are easily identifiable and always based on the Common. We want to secure a dedicated budge

t and create a structure that can attract funding for exciting projects in the future. We want to get better value for money by taking away the big company profit motive and having the flexibility to avoid borough-wide contracts that often don't represent value for money locally, and to be able to work with local businesses. We want a more accountable structure that ensures local people have a real say, but also keep the democracy and ultimate accountability that the council provides as the owner. We hope you will read more and register your support.

We aspired to create a community event with simple Old Skool charm.
With the Pimms, Maypole and Morris Dancers, plus splat the rat, hoops, arts and crafts, an aray of market stalls and beautiful Choir and Jazz singers -think we nailed it !!

Great day at the Streatham Common Cooperative Rookery Farmers Market for the May Fair!

Cllr Danny Adilypour, Cllr Dominic Armstrong and Cllr Sarah Cole joined in the fun, which included maypole dancing, a performance from the Sing Streatham choir and morris dancing by the Brixton Tatterjacks.

Thank you to SCCoop, the local volunteers and all the performers and stall holders for putting on such a fun day for our local community.

So proud of the Froglife Rookery Gardens Wild Times group!
Another wonderful way SCCOOP helps improves lives and mental wellbeing through health by stealth outdoor community projects !
Have fun together outdoors in nature and you won't even realise you've had a work out too ! 💚

We’re proud to see our dementia projects in Frome and London featured in the Financial Times.

This thoughtful article explores how gardening, wildlife connection and time spent outdoors can help people living with dementia reduce stress, improve wellbeing and build meaningful social connections.

From sensory gardening to creative nature-based activities, projects like and show the powerful role nature can play in helping people live well with dementia.

A huge thank you to everyone involved — participants, staff, volunteers and partners — for making these sessions so special.
