There's not long left to cast your ballot in the Co-op Group's AGM. If you shop at a Co-op with a blue membership card or using the Co-op app, you could be eligible to vote: check your emails or the App for your ballot.

Voting closes at 12 noon on Monday 11 May – so don't forget to Vote Yes to Motion 8 to continue our historic partnership with the co-operative movement.

Today we're launching our new report: Building Resilience: the case for co-operative agriculture.

In 2026, we hear a lot about the need for food security. Britain's ability to feed itself currently relies on a complex supply chain, heavily reliant on imports. Extreme weather as a direct result of climate change is piling yet more pressure on our farmers and our food systems. War only makes it worse: what begins as a distant geopolitical conflict quickly leads to rising fuel costs, disrupted fertiliser supplies and higher food prices.

The silver lining is that moments like this show failing systems, however entrenched, can be changed. This is a moment that demands a shift in perspective.

Our report argues that agricultural co-operatives are practical and potentially transformational: a modern institutional model capable of redistributing power through our food system.
