The US-UK Fulbright Commission was founded by diplomatic treaty in 1948, to foster intercultural understanding between the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland through educational exchange. We continue to support Senator Fulbright’s vision though our scholarship and summer programmes, enabling British and American citizens to study, research or teac

h at universities across the Atlantic. As part of the EducationUSA network, we also offer British students free, accurate, and comprehensive information about opportunities to study at accredited universities in the USA.

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting our US grantees in London for our 2026 Forum. The energy was something truly special, the kind of spirit that reminds you exactly why this exchange matters. There is nothing quite like bringing together a group of exceptional people united by curiosity, ambition, and a commitment to making a difference on both sides of the Atlantic.

And what a way to bring things to a close, with the Eccles Lecture at The British Library. Chaired by Ramsden Madeus, the panel brought together playwright and screenwriter Ade Solanke FRSA, LAMDA Professor of Shakespeare and Early Modern Drama Rodney Cottier, and Kate Dossett, Professor of American History and Black Theatre at the University of Leeds, for a fascinating exploration of the transatlantic exchange of theatrical ideas. A fitting, inspiring end to a remarkable Forum.

Thank you to every grantee, speaker, member of staff, and supporter who made this Forum what it was.
