Cities of London & Westminster is one of the UK's most active and dynamic Conservative Associations. As London's Premier League Association we support political campaigning across the capital. We hold regular networking and social events in central London.

Oxford Street closes to traffic on 26 October, and the questions are still piling up.

On BBC Politics London on 4 October, Cllr Festus Akinbusoye, Westminster councillor for Abbey Road, asked how the closure can be made to work for the homes and businesses around it. Where will the displaced traffic go? What happens to buses and the emergency services? And why hasn't the Mayor's Office provided the environmental impact assessment the council asked for?

Your West End Conservative councillors, Tim Barnes and Elizabeth Amos, were out in Soho and Mayfair on Saturday 3 October for their monthly ward surgeries.

Residents raised motorbike noise, planning, crime, a potential new museum in Mayfair and noise from local properties, and many came back to report progress on issues they'd raised before. That's what hard-working Conservative councillors look like.

Next surgeries: Saturday 7 November, 10am at Sacred Grounds café, St Anne's Church, Soho, then 11.30am at Mayfair Library. Free, with no need to book.

Oxford Street works are under way, with 26 October fast approaching.

Cllr Tim Barnes: "We are writing to the Oxford Street Development Corporation with our serious concerns now it is obvious the mayor is rushing preparations with little time left."

A £150 million Oxford Street scheme, and no full environmental impact assessment, waved through by Labour ministers at the Mayor's request.

Cllr Tim Barnes: "Right now there's a danger that we will have all of the downsides and too little upside. Traffic will be pushed to the small streets nearby causing economic and environmental harm."
