Its been a wet old year but while its been bad for a suntan it will fill the apples. All we need now is a bit of sun to ripen them. Here's hoping!

The 2017 harvest is in full swing we have made a great deal of juice and there are a lot of apples waiting to be squished. The juice is very good this year and there is a lot of it!

One thing is that facebook have managed to put us on the wrong place on their map. We are at Gatcombe Court BS48 3QT and not Highlands Road, Long Ashton where one poor person ended up last week. I am unable to change the 'football'. Someone must have moved it and correcting it is beyond me. Any ideas gratefully received. Oh to be rather better at this social media than I am.

We had a really good year for the 2016 harvest. The apples were well ripened and the juice is proving to be delicious. All our bed and breakfast guests are loving it.

This years blossom is just opening so we are hoping that this cold wind will drop and we wil have good pollination.

Juicing in full swing. Apples arriving in bags, sacks and bins to be turned into bottles of deliciousness (well usually depending on the apple variety). Various hues of golden juice looking smart in their labelled bottles leaving with happy growers looking forward to supping the juice from their own apples which have before just layn rotting on the ground while groundsmen curse at havingto pick them up to mow thta lawn. Here werace the badgers to the daily drop and have to move the horses out of the orchard or they strip the trees. Blacky the 11.2hh Irish Sports Pony left for a new home last night he was such an apple pony.I'll have to visit him with a few. Good bribery.and the girls wonder why I can always catch him!!

Apples looking a bit thin on the ground. June drop rather July and not many though we do have a lot of totally red apples this year. Oink Juice perhaps? How is anyone else's crop??

Goodness we ahve been busy on the pressing front. Everyone seems to be very happy with juice and labels. Apples are getting a bit softer and riper now which makes it a bit difficlult when sieving but the result is pretty delicious

Loads of apples this year starting with Discovery we are now juicing all sorts of varieties from very sweet with an almost red juice to the yellower juice from sharper types. Some people bring a shopping bag others have a boot full of apples. They all are treated the same and its good to see how much people enjoy playing with names for their juice and enjoying the results of the pressing. None of our apples are ripe yet which is interesting. Always something new when you grow things. For the first time I have beaten the birds to the black dessert grapes that have been fruiting for 3 years. We are eating and jamming them as the juice is soooo difficult to press juat too soft with our system. Better to be good at one thing.
