What an incredible week it has been for our 10 cadets at the Central & East Region Air Cadets Camp at RAF Odiham!

Joining almost 90 cadets from across the region, our cadets threw themselves into every opportunity on offer. From the unforgettable experience of flying in a RAF Chinook, to leadership challenges, sport, teamwork, and behind the scenes visits to 18 Squadron and the station firefighters, every day brought something new.

Beyond the activities, the camp was about building confidence, making new friendships, and creating memories that will stay with our cadets for years to come. These experiences are what make the Air Cadets so special, giving young people opportunities they simply wouldn't find anywhere else.

A huge thank you to all of the staff at RAF Odiham and the Central & East Region team for delivering such a fantastic camp.

A Day Out in the Community! ✈️💙

What a brilliant day for 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron at West Park, Long Eaton!

Last week, our cadets got the chance to showcase just some of what the RAF Air Cadets is all about, meeting members of our local community and giving people a taste of life as a cadet.

From getting hands-on with activities and demonstrations to taking part in a drill demonstration in front of the public, our cadets represented the squadron brilliantly throughout the day. 👏

We also had the opportunity to support the Long Eaton Rotary Club, helping with gazebos and lending a hand wherever needed to support the local community. It was fantastic to see our cadets putting their teamwork, leadership and practical skills into action.

A huge thank you to everyone who came over, spoke to our cadets and took an interest in what we do. Days like today are a great way to show that being a cadet is about far more than just uniform and drill - it's about developing confidence, gaining qualifications, learning new skills and getting involved in your community.

🏅 Recognising Achievement at 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron! ✈️

A fantastic evening for our cadets as 5 Silver Space Badges and 3 Blue Leadership Badges were awarded! 🚀👏

At 2195 Squadron, we’re proud to give cadets opportunities to develop skills that go far beyond parade nights. From building up to BTECs and nationally recognised qualifications to independent life skills, leadership, teamwork and practical experiences, there’s always something new to learn and achieve.

These badges are just one example of the opportunities available to our cadets — helping young people build confidence, independence and skills for the future. 💪

🌍🍽️ Cooking Competition Night! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

Tonight our cadets put their culinary skills to the test in a fun cooking competition, creating dishes inspired by countries from around the world! 🌎

From planning and teamwork to presentation (and, of course, taste!), everyone rose to the challenge and produced some fantastic meals.

A fantastic day of sunshine at 7AEF as our cadets took to the skies!

All four cadets had the incredible opportunity to experience flying in a Grob Tutor, gaining a unique perspective from the cockpit and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

An unforgettable day of adventure, learning and aviation! ✈️

After celebrating the graduation of our newest recruit flight, we made the most of the warm weather with a fun-filled, water-based Inter-Flight Competition! 🌊☀️

It was a great opportunity to build teamwork, enjoy some friendly competition, and cool off after weeks of hard work and dedication.

Congratulations again to our graduates, and well done to everyone who participated!

A special well done to our CWO Wright on this tremendous achievement!
We look forward to seeing your skills develop further 🎉

Congratulations to CWO Oliver Wright on achieving his Grade 2 (G2) award.

CWO Wright became a Flight Staff Cadet at 644 VGS last year and has since completed his Gliding Scholarship, followed by his Advanced Gliding Training. Following further work up, he has now been awarded his G2. This is an outstanding achievement and reflects his dedication and skill.

Congratulations once again, FSC Wright. An excellent accomplishment.
