We're excited for the The Wildlife Trusts' 30 Days Wild, so we decided to get you started a little early with today's Family Craft and Lego Club. Come along this morning from 9.30am-12.30pm to make a 'Nature Journal' to record some of your wild adventures. If getting creative with blocks is more your thing, have a go at inventing a machine that takes inspiration from nature - a helicopter that flies like a dragonfly, a submarine that sinks and floats like a whale, a vehicle that slides like a snake!

The library is open every Saturday from 9am-1pm with free family activities running from 9.30am-12.30pm.

And if you're inspired to take part in 30 Days Wild, we'd love to encourage you! The challenge invites you to do something 'wild' every day or a few days a week during the month of June and starts on Monday 1 June. It is free to take part. The library is (relatively!) cool this morning thanks to our high ceilings! We have our bee-themed family craft and Lego from Saturday all morning so if you want to escape the heat with a free indoor activity, please do come and see us.

The library is open 10am-1pm, then 2pm-5pm every Tuesday with our Wordplay session for babies and toddlers running from 2.30pm-3pm as usual.

We're celebrating bees this week! Come along to the library this morning from 9.30am-12.30pm to make a cute pipe cleaner bee or take up our Lego challenge and create a bee or insect from blocks. All activities are free thanks to the support of the Friends of Long Melford Library and the library is open from 9am-1pm for all our usual services.

We hope you have plans to come and see us tomorrow! The Friends of Long Melford Spring Fair will be running at the library on Saturday 16th May between 10am-12 noon. Beautiful locally grown plants; homemade jams, chutneys, cakes, breads and biscuits; raffles; and a Lego prize draw for our younger supporters! All funds raised support your local library.

It's nearly here! Come along to the Friends of Long Melford Library's Spring Fair on Saturday 16th May from 10am-12 noon. We'll have the usual locally grown plants (hostas, perennials and annuals, some herbs and vegetables), cakes and biscuits, jams and raffle. The fair takes place at Long Melford Library in St Catherine's Church on St Catherine's Road. All funds raised support your local library.

Our Lego Club last Saturday were inspired to celebrate the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough. Thanks to all the children who made such lovely nature-inspired creations. And happy birthday, Sir David!

If you'd like to support the library with our offer of additional events for children and adults, you have a chance this coming Saturday 16th May! The Friends of Long Melford Library's Spring Fair takes place on Saturday 16th May from 10am-12 noon and raises money to help with the cost of extra equipment (including Lego and craft supplies!), special events, visits from schools and the Scouts, the free teas and coffees that we offer, and many of those extra bits that make our service that much better, bigger and friendlier. All you have to do is come along, buy some of the beautiful locally grown plants for your garden, buy some delicious homemade cakes or jam, or try your luck at one of our raffles. Thank you for your support and to the volunteers of our Friends group who put so much work into our fundraising events.
