Car Park Notice

From Monday 8th June, Severn Trent will be carrying out works to install a pipeline along Gotham Road. As part of these works, the pipeline will need to be installed across the exit from the lower car park.

To facilitate the works and allow access for large tanker deliveries, several parking spaces in the lower car park will be temporarily cordoned off.

As a result, the usual car park exit will be closed, and the main entrance will be used for both entering and exiting the car park.

We ask all car park users to take extra care and be mindful of other vehicles when entering or leaving the car park during this period.

At present, we do not know how long these arrangements will remain in place, but we will provide updates as soon as we receive further information from Severn Trent.

Public Toilets Refurbishment Update

East Leake Parish Council is pleased to confirm that a new contractor has now been appointed to complete the refurbishment of the village public toilets, with works due to recommence next week.

As many residents will be aware, the original contractor unexpectedly entered administration part-way through the project. Unfortunately, this was entirely outside of the Parish Council's control and resulted in unavoidable delays while arrangements were made to appoint a replacement contractor.

We understand the frustration that the extended closure has caused and would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding. Please be assured that the Council has worked as quickly as possible to progress matters and minimise disruption, while ensuring that the correct procedures were followed in appointing a new contractor.

We are delighted that the project is now moving forward again and look forward to providing further updates as the refurbishment progresses.

Important message to follow from Severn Trent:

Part of Gotham Road car park is currently being used as a construction compound and is not available for public use. This is a section at the top end of the carpark nearest the basketball courts.

The area is an active work site and is not safe for public access.
Gates will remain closed where possible but may be opened at times to allow deliveries and site access, so we kindly ask that the area is not entered.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the community’s understanding as we carry out these essential works.
