It was great to speak to the School Council, Youth Councillors and Government & Politics students at Davenant Foundation School. I enjoyed sharing my journey in politics so far and answering lots of thoughtful questions.

It’s always encouraging to see young people taking such an interest in politics, public service and their local community.

A huge thank you to the fantastic TVS Ltd refuse and recycling crews (Epping Forest District Council’s in-house waste collection company) who have kept collections running across Epping Forest during the extreme heat. ☀️♻️

Despite the challenging conditions, they continued their rounds and completed missed collections without any suspension of service. With extra welfare measures in place to keep crews safe, their resilience and professionalism have been outstanding. Thank you for everything you do to keep our communities clean. 👏☀️♻️

A brilliant event at Manjal Restaurant in Loughton last night with our Member of Parliament,Dr Neil Hudsonand guest speaker, Rebecca Harris. It was fascinating to hear about what’s happening in Westminster and the great work that Kemi Badenoch is doing to renew the Conservative Party and provide strong, effective leadership as Leader of the Opposition.

Disgusting behaviour from Geoff Shaw, the new Reform Epping Forest District Councillor for Theydon Bois and Passingford. He should resign.

This raises yet more serious questions about Reform UK’s vetting process… or lack of one.

I am aware of the campaign to save the telephone boxes in Epping. I fully support this and love our iconic red telephone boxes.

The council has looked into this previously and approached BT about adopting them. Unfortunately, they were taken on by a charity in 2018, and despite attempts to make contact to explore working together or purchasing them, we have not received a response.

We are now contacting BT again to see if there is another route available, particularly as the boxes are being put up for sale.

I would love to see them repurposed, perhaps as a mini library or a defibrillator point. They are an important part of our town’s character and heritage.
