Sculpture of the Year 2026 is here! 🎨🌿 Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing this year’s nominated works and giving you the chance to choose your favourite.

Our Alpine House is home to a fascinating collection of alpine plants and species from warmer, drier climates, all thriving in carefully created conditions.

The Alpine House complements Sir Edmund Loder's vision for Leonardslee, where his passion for collecting unusual plants inspired features like the famous Rock Garden and helped shape the gardens we enjoy today.

🦡 Leonardslee After Dark

Caught on our trail camera: one of the gardens’ quieter residents out exploring after dark. 🌙🌿

Badgers are mostly nocturnal and have an excellent sense of smell, using their strong claws to dig for food such as earthworms, insects, fruits and small mammals.

They may be familiar sights in the countryside, but spotting one exploring Leonardslee is always a special moment. 🤎
