Happy Sunday everyone! Before the weekend comes to an end, we thought we'd share a few of the things your local CPT officers have been busy with throughout the week.

Earlier this week, PC #1698 Stimpson from the Normanston & St Maragrets ward visited the YMCA Nursery, spending time with the children to talk about the role of the police, how we help people in our communities, and answering some fantastic questions. The children then got hands-on making their own fingerprint keyrings!

Over the weekend, officers have continued to enforce the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) restrictions within the town centre. We are aware of the concerns raised by our community and are working closely with East Suffolk Council to take appropriate action against those who fail to comply. This may include issuing Fixed Penalty Notices, reporting offences for prosecution and, where necessary, making arrests for those who refuse to comply.

Thank you for continuing to report issues and share your concerns with us. Your feedback helps us focus our patrols on the areas that matter most to you, and we will continue to maintain a visible presence in the town centre.

We would also like to welcome PC #5426 Chapman to the Community Policing Team for the Harbour Ward. PC Chapman has settled in well and is already enjoying getting out into the community and meeting local residents. Please say hello if you see her out and about! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Meanwhile, while your local officers are out engaging with the community, our dedicated response officers from RIT 1 have been hard at work today answering emergency calls and responding when members of the public need us most. ๐Ÿš”

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The south town centre team have been in today conducting their usual foot patrols.
Our specially trained officers conducted some deployments across different parts of the town, utilising a wide range of resources including plain clothes officers and state of the art CCTV. These deployments are unpredictable and can happen at any time with the aim of disrupting criminality through high visibility operations.
Whilst on London Road North, plain clothes officers spotted a male riding an electric bike in a poor manner weaving in and out of pedestrians at speed. He was shortly intercepted by uniformed officers who were in the area, they identified that his bike was illegal due to the battery being double the size that is legally permitted and having a throttle that can power it, making it is essentially a motorbike. The bike has been seized and will be destroyed.
As well as this, officers searched a vehicle under section 163 of the Customs and Exercise Management act due to suspicion that this vehicle is linked to the supply of illicit to***co in the area.
The next deployment could be along at any time, for more information on Project Servator in Suffolk please see https://orlo.uk/nJygO

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hey Lowestoft, Beccles & Bungay!
What a beautiful Sunday weโ€™ve got today! โ˜€๏ธ
Just a little update on some of the things our teams have been getting up to while out and about...

๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Doing their bit for the beach
PC #1103 Iong and PC #1927 Rogers, who joined us from RIT for the day, bumped into the fantastic volunteers from Litter Free Lowestoft on South Beach.
The volunteers had collected an impressive 13 bags of litter while also helping with the Marine Conservation Society Beachwatch survey. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŠ
A brilliant effort from everyone involved. Our coastline certainly looks better for it!

๐Ÿš— No insurance? No car...
PC #796 Gladwin and PC #5121 Regini-Peterson came across this BMW and, unfortunately for the driver, it wasn't insured.
So, you've guessed it...
The BMW wasn't driving home. ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿš™
It was seized.

๐Ÿšฌ And then there was the to***co...
Yesterday, our Town Centre Team A were out in Lowestoft when they came across this little collection of illegal to***co.
Now, we know this one may generate a few comments! ๐Ÿ˜…
There are a number of reasons why the sale of illegal to***co is taken seriously, and if you've never looked into it before, have a little Google. You might be surprised at what sits behind the illegal to***co trade.
The information gathered, along with the items seized, will now be passed to our colleagues at Trading Standards and HMRC for the appropriate follow-up.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Finally...
We're sure there'll be a few of the classic Facebook comments below, and that's absolutely fine. Everyone is entitled to their view.
All we ask is that we keep it civil, be respectful of each other and maybe even try to help one another along the way. ๐Ÿ‘
And remember, if you want to speak to us, there are plenty of ways to get in touch and tell us about what's going on in the area where you live, any events or just if you want to say hi.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎ

๐Ÿ“ข Oh, before I go...
On one of my previous posts I asked for the family of a young lady named Ivy to get in touch with me.
I left this with a colleague to follow up, but just to make sure we haven't missed each other, if you're a member of Ivy's family, please send this page a private message or use our website contact us section to contact me.
Thanks ๐Ÿ‘
