🌿 Another jam-packed week at Carlton Marshes! 🌞

As the summer holidays start to draw to a close, we’ve packed in plenty of muddy adventures, wildlife discoveries and creativity amongst mixture of weather!

We started off the week with our usual Wild Tots session before welcoming our childminding group, who were delighted to see the return of the puddles and mud after all that rain! 💦🪵

Our Holiday Club got stuck into some d**e dipping, discovering dragonfly nymphs and even a water stick insect! 🦟🪲 Unfortunately, the weather had the final say, and we ended the day getting absolutely soaked as we raced to escape a thunderstorm! ⛈️😂

On Friday, we had the final session of our Family Wild Beach events 🌊. We explored the plants growing along the beach, discovered some lesser-known marine species and got creative with more beach-inspired crafts. 🐚🌿🎨

Our Young Wardens were hard at work on Saturday, helping to rebuild the fence in our education woodland and making sure it remains a safe and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. 🔨🌳

And finally, we rounded off the week with a lovely sunny birthday party! 🎉 There was more d**e dipping, natural crafts and plenty of outdoor fun to celebrate.

What a way to finish another busy week of summer adventures! 💚🌞

We've had a busy first week celebrating 💙

🪼With Wild Tots we made tissue paper jellyfish, played with jelly sea creatures and played in our sand pit. Our childminding group also got to enjoy these activities.
🛶With Holiday Club we made rafts out of willow and tested how many rock "passengers" they could hold. We also did some rock painting and they enjoyed playing in the sand pit and making jellyfish as much as the tots!
🌊With our Wild Beach Family Activity we search for treasures on the beach, conducted a litter pick and made sand villages with coastal defences.

And there is more marine fun coming up this week!

We had a great time on our first Wild Beach Family Activity yesterday with peakopenwatersports 🌊

We explored the beach for treasures, then did a litter pick to do our bit to help the beach environment. Next we made sand villages with coastal defences and tested whether they could stand up to the waves then had a calm finish with some rock painting 🐚🚯🎨

We can’t wait to be back on the beach next Friday!
