This drop-in session gives residents the chance to speak directly with officers about any concerns in your area. These conversations help shape our local policing priorities in line with the West Mercia Police Community Charter and ongoing neighbourhood policing activity.

Officers from Ludlow Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by our colleagues from Church Stretton, were out on high-visibility foot patrols during yesterday's England vs Croatia World Cup match.

Our aim is to help everyone enjoy the game safely, whether you’re cheering from home or supporting from licensed venues across the area.

🚔 Joint Operation – Ludlow SNT & Trading Standards 🚔

1️⃣ What we want the public to know:
Ludlow Safer Neighbourhood Team has been working alongside Trading Standards to carry out a joint operation targeting shops suspected of selling illegal to***co products. Selling counterfeit or unregulated to***co is a criminal offence and is often linked to wider organised crime, harming local businesses and undermining community safety. This activity supports our ongoing commitment to tackling serious and organised crime in line with national policing priorities.

We want our community to feel reassured that we are actively addressing concerns around illegal trading and protecting legitimate businesses. By working in partnership with Trading Standards, we are taking a proactive approach to keep Ludlow a safe and fair place for everyone.

As part of Neighbourhood Policing Week, South Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out Operation Conyay yesterday evening (Tuesday 16 June) in Ludlow, focusing on tackling drug-related activity in the area.

A combination of plain-clothed and uniformed officers conducted proactive patrols, engaging with drivers across the town. The operation led to four stop searches, three of which resulted in positive finds for possession of cannabis. Three men have since been dealt with by way of Community Resolutions, including requirements to complete drug diversion interventions.

Officers also took action over road safety offences with one driver reported for having a bald tyre and issuing another with a Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme notice to address a damaged windscreen.

This operation highlights the force's ongoing commitment to listening to community concerns and taking targeted action to address them.

Through our Jog On Initiative, we are tackling perpetrator behaviour on the streets which can often create barriers to women running. This can include catcalling, intimidation and assaults.

🔐 Protect Your Vehicle – Help Prevent Theft 🔐

What we want you to know

We are seeing an increase in vehicle thefts involving Nissan Navara models across South Shropshire. Preventing vehicle crime is a local Safer Neighbourhood Team priority, supporting the NPCC’s national campaign to disrupt organised vehicle theft.
How we want you to feel
Reassured that there are simple, practical steps you can take to protect your vehicle, and confident that your local officers are actively working to keep communities safe.
What we want you to do
Help reduce the risk of vehicle theft by following these security tips:

✅ Always lock your vehicle and double‑check it is secure
✅ Use a steering wheel lock or other visible security device
✅ Park in a garage or well‑lit area where possible
✅ Keep keys out of sight and away from doors and windows
✅ Store vehicle keys in a Faraday pouch to block signals and help prevent keyless theft
✅ Make sure CCTV or doorbell cameras are switched on and working

A man has been charged with a number of driving offences following an incident in Ludlow yesterday (Thursday 4 June).

Jak Mallek, of Sevendale in Averly, Bridgnorth, was charged with possession of cannabis, failing to stop, driving with no insurance, and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

The 22-year-old has been released on bail and is due to appear at Telford Magistrates Court on Monday 6 July.

Car key Thefts & Burglary's

If you own a vehicle a vehicle with remote locking and unlocking and push button to start engines a faraday pouch is a must have in the fight against vehicle theft

A Faraday pouch (sometimes called a Faraday bag) is a small, signal‑blocking pouch designed to store keyless car fobs.
Many modern car keys constantly emit a signal. Criminals can use equipment to boost or capture this signal from outside your home and unlock your car without forcing entry – this is known as relay theft.

A Faraday pouch is lined with special material that blocks radio signals, preventing thieves from accessing or copying your car key’s signal while it’s inside the pouch
A simple faraday pouch will when closed properly will shield the key and prevent the RFID signal from leaving the pouch rendering the theft attempt useless

Car Key theft by Burglary is where thieves will target high value cars by breaking into the property to steal the cars, invest in anti snap door locks for front and rear doors
