☀️ The weather may be hot, but the water is still dangerously cold.
Stay safe:
• Never enter water alone
• Remember Float to Live
• In an emergency, call 999, never enter the water yourself.
Here's some great advice from Surf Life Saving GB
⏰ Quick actions can save lives. Follow these steps in the FIRST 90 SECONDS if you or others fall into cold water:
✅ Stay still and resist the urge to swim – Don’t thrash around. Staying still for the first 90 seconds prevents total exhaustion.
✅ Roll onto your back and float – Tilt your head back until your ears are submerged to keep your airway clear.
✅ Control your breathing – Do as little as possible until the initial shock passes and breathing is regulated.
✅ First 90 seconds – Follow these steps in the first 90 seconds, and the shock should pass
