We are wrapping up tonight’s lecture with Revd Dr Helen Paynter, Alan Moss, and Jeronne Rudder on our panel, taking our questions and helping us reflect on how to ground this within our own communities.

Jeronne Rudder:
"Young people don’t need perfect churches. They need love from authentic communities. What if youth ministry is a garden? A space and a place where young people can thrive, flourish, and feel safe. How can we inspire young people to be prophets where they are, planting gardens of radical hope?"

Alan Moss:
"When young people are empowered, they can be voices of reconciliation."

Revd Dr Helen Paynter's lecture is underway.

"We need to address our cheap hope head on. True hope comes from a frank understanding of reality. If we are willing to look courageously at the world, we must be willing to be broken-hearted.

In our youth ministry, is there room for disappointment, grief, and rage? Or do we encourage young people to leave their problems at the door? Hope is only true hope if it looks into the abyss. True hope is honest."
