Message regarding Hall Hire's Returning next week;

We would like to advise you on the Opening times for all Hall and room bookings W/C the 19th of October as follows.
Monday 19th October the building will be open for Sangam Ladies Hall hire between 13:00-16:00.
Tuesday 20th October the building will be closed for the day.
Wednesday 21st October the building will be open for hall hires between 9:30-3:30 for Luton art group and then again from 17:00-20:15 for Martial arts kickboxing.
Thursday 22nd October the building will be open for Line Dancing Hall hire10-12 and re-open for Futures50+ 13:00-15:00
Friday 23rd October the building will be open for Friday Prayers Hall hire between 13:00-15:00.
Saturday 24th October the building will be open for hall hire between 9-18:00
Sunday 25th October the building will be open for KICC CHURCH Hall Hire between 9:30-14:00
Please note that these are opening times for hall/room hires only, the Giggles and Cafe1 are still currently closed with an opening date to come in due course.

Good afternoon all,

We are pleased to provide an update.

In the last couple of weeks, we have been working on the gradual return of the tenants at Futures House, and this continues to progress further in the coming weeks.
We have also been in touch with our regular community groups and hall hirers and am pleased to report that we will resume these from next week, w/c Monday 19 October. Futures House will be open at select times to accommodate these groups and hall hires. We will update the building opening and closing times on a week-by-week basis on our website and page until we are fully open as normal.Marsh Bears Nursery will be having an opening day on Monday 19 October2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm as they look forward to welcoming children, families and staff back to the nursery and resuming their services within the Marsh Farm community.
In relation to Marsh Farm Futures services, the planned return schedule is as follows:
w/c 19 October, Futurez Youth (Tuesday 20 October from 4 – 6pm) and Junior Futurez (Thursday 22 October from 4 – 6pm)
w/c 26 October, Youth Clubs on Tuesday and Thursday and half term activities including Family Movie, ‘Night of the Zoopocalypse (Monday 26 October from 10am to 12 noon) and ‘Stay and Play’ sessions on Tuesday 27 October from 1 – 3pm and Friday 30 October from 10am to 12 noon).
w/c 2 November, Youth Clubs as normal and the re-start of Coffee Mornings on Thursdays and Community Fridge on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Nearly all day and evening hall hires are expected to be back and running from this week also.
At this current time, we do not have an anticipated return date for The Giggles and Café 1.
Finally, we are pleased to report that the programme of works to repair the roof will start from Monday 19 October. We provide further updates in the coming weeks.
We know that the forced closure of Futures House has impacted the community and everyone who comes as a community user for our services and the groups who attend our halls as well as our tenants and regular customers at Café 1 and The Giggles. We know that these are small positive steps for the charity and the community we serve.

Futures House Fire – Building Update

We have continued to make good progress this week with investigations, inspections and testing following the fire, to allow the safe occupation of as much of the building as possible, as quickly as reasonably practicable.

The safety of everyone using the building remains our priority. Before allowing areas to be reoccupied, it is essential that critical life-safety systems, including the fire alarm and emergency lighting, are functioning appropriately. We have also been carrying out inspections and testing to identify any safety issues arising from the fire and to determine how any remaining issues can be safely managed in the short term while permanent repairs are undertaken.

Many of these investigations and tests have now been completed. Subject to receiving and reviewing the outstanding results and confirmations, we are hopeful that much of the building will be able to reopen for occupation shortly.

Reoccupation is likely to be phased, and some areas of the building will remain out of bounds while further investigations and repairs are completed. Tenants should also be aware that some internal environmental systems may initially operate below their normal level of performance while remedial works continue.

We will continue to provide further updates as soon as we can confirm the next steps and anticipated timescales.

Update 27/08/2026

Futures House experienced a fire on Wednesday 12 August 2026. Since then, we have been working closely with our insurers, loss adjusters and professional consultants to complete the necessary emergency works and assessments to enable the building to reopen safely.

The initial cleaning has been completed and most of the main building services have now been reinstated. Our Building Surveyor and other specialist contractors are continuing to assess and address the remaining works and requirements.

Subject to the necessary professional and safety confirmations, we are currently aiming to begin reopening the majority of the centre towards the end of next week or during the following week, on a phased basis.

We expect that some services may remain temporarily unavailable or operate with restrictions for a period, while the remaining reinstatement works are completed. We will continue to work as quickly as possible to restore all services fully.

We recognise the disruption and uncertainty this has caused to our staff, tenants, service users and the wider community, and we greatly appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding and cooperation while we work through the recovery process.

We will provide further updates as the reopening programme becomes clearer.

Please note that due to the fire at Futures House, our Family Movie Event scheduled for Thursday 20th has had to be rescheduled to Thursday 27th.

The event was already completely sold out - an email has gone out to current ticket holders regarding the change of date.

If you cannot make the new date, please can you cancel your tickets to allow other families to book.
