She is just so pretty! This is Esme, one of our yearlings, and when shes not winding up Enya (which in her defence is an infrequent occurrence) she enjoys playing with her field mates, and meeting visitors to the farm

I think Fergus was expecting warm water! On a visit, you may see these large grey mats in flat spots around the field. Our alpacas love using splash mats to stay cool in the summer, so much so that they will lie in them before we've even filled them, though clearly its more popular with the adults then our cria!

Throwback to the hot weather last month. Anybody else get the pool out to stay cool- our alpacas love having a splash about!

Here are our girls running in for feeding after shearing feeling much cooler. You may notice one of our herd seems to have escaped and still has a full coat- that's Jewel who had her baby on shearing day. We felt she'd had enough stress that day and waited for a later date for her to be shorn.

Its been a busy few weeks at Alchemy alpacas! Our alpacas got their new looks, with shearing, and then Jewel decided to add to an already a full on day with our first cria of the year! Fizz was shortly followed by Flick, Fergus and Flora (can you spot the pattern?) We've got some more on the way, and full introductions for the current four will be coming shortly!
