A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported tonight’s multi-agency major incident exercise in Lyme Regis, including: Lyme Regis Coastguard, West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team, RNLI Lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset, RNLI Lyme Regis, Lyme Regis Fire Station, South Western Ambulance Service - Volunteering and Community Services. It was fantastic to see so many teams, staff and volunteers working together, sharing knowledge and putting skills into practice in a realistic training environment.

A fantastic day delivering the Qualsafe Level 4 Award in Out-of-Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support course today.

Learners worked through a range of high-fidelity scenarios, including:
🛻 A person hit by a car with a challenging extrication
🛟 A kayaker pulled from the water with difficult airway management
💉A patient experiencing a medical emergency

These scenarios gave the group the opportunity to apply their knowledge, practise decision-making, and develop confidence in managing time-critical emergencies.

Throughout the course, learners covered key elements of adult immediate life support, including:
✅ Structured Patient Assessment and Recognising Deterioration
✅ Airway Management and Ventilatory Support
✅ Trauma assessment and Management of Traumatic Injuries
✅ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Post ROSC Management
✅ Recognising and Managing Medical Emergencies
✅ Administration of Emergency Medications

It was brilliant to see everyone getting stuck into the practical skills and working together in realistic scenarios.

Today, our team attended the Care & Occupational Therapy Show with Ayres' Sensory Integration WISE, where we were proud to announce our new course: Supporting People with Neurodiversity and Trauma in Emergency Services Settings.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to speak with us today. It was fantastic to share this exciting project and discuss how emergency services can continue to improve care for service users.

Developed in collaboration with the sensory integration specialists at ASI Wise, this first module provides learners with a foundational understanding of neurodiversity, trauma, and sensory processing differences, exploring their impact on engagement in clinical assessment and intervention, and emphasising inclusive, person-centred practice. Learners will be able to recognise, interpret, and respond to the unique needs of people with neurodiversity and trauma in emergency services settings.

We are releasing Module 1: Introduction to Neurodiversity, Trauma, Sensory Processing and Sensory Integration, as a 1-hour e-learning package. Further information is available on our website.

Delivered in a practical, hands-on learning environment, the Level 4 Award in Out-of-Hospital Adult Immediate Life Support is a paramedic-led, Ofqual-regulated, 1-Day course designed to expand skills and increase confidence.

Our Paramedic-Led team attended a multi-agency exercise yesterday alongside Lyme Regis Coastguard, West Bay Coastguard Rescue Team, Lyme Regis Lifeboat and RNLI Lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset.

These exercises help maintain competency and develop skills in realistic environments for our trainers and staff members. This allows them to continue delivering high-quality and relevant training to all our clients.
