🏡 A NEW CHAPTER FOR INGLESIDE HOUSE
Ingleside House has new owners, with Julie and Martin taking the reins and starting a new chapter for this much-loved Lynton property. 🛏️ They're looking forward to welcoming guests, new and old, this summer.

🥪 PRESS'D – FRESH ON LEE ROAD!
The team behind The Old Bank have been busy again! 🥪 Press'd is their new deli on Lee Road, bringing fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, bread and plenty more to Lynton's food scene. Pop in and see what's on the shelves!

🏨 THE CROWN HOTEL – LOOKING FABULOUS!
One of Lynton's most recognisable hotels has had a major transformation! ✨ The Crown Hotel has undergone a beautiful refurbishment while retaining the character of this historic building. There are now 15 beautifully refreshed rooms, including Classic, Superior and Family rooms.

🌸 EXMOOR FLOWERS HAS GROWN!
Your favourite flowers now come with a side of coffee! 🌺☕ Exmoor Flowers is now Exmoor Flowers & Café, with Laura and her new team serving up delicious coffee and matcha creations alongside those beautiful blooms.

🍜 NARTNAPA HAS MOVED!
Fancy a Pan-Asian feast? 🍜 Nartnapa has moved from The Cottage Inn and is now serving at The Queens in Lynton. Gary, Pam and the team are ready to welcome you to their new home!

🍽️ EXMOOR SEASONAL DINING EXPERIENCE
Looking for something a little different? Exmoor Seasonal Dining Experience brings intimate, chef-led dining experiences rooted in seasonality and food cultures, shaped by travel and time. 🌿🍽️
Thoughtful menus are influenced by years of professional cooking across different kitchens and countries, created by Ilona Pettigrew & Dasha Moughton.

👗 WELCOME, BOUTIQUE 52!
Where Clathers once stood, you'll now find Boutique 52, with Eve at the helm. 👗✨ A brand-new ladieswear shop bringing another lovely addition to Lynton's independent shopping scene.

🐶 RULYN DOG GROOMING – NEW HOME!
The pampering has moved! 🐕✨ Rulyn Dog Grooming is now at St Vincent's Guest House, where Beth is ready to give your pooches all the pampering they deserve. New location, same happy dogs!

✂️ WELCOME, LYNTON BARBERS!
There's a new name on Lee Road! ✂️ Lynton Barbers is a brand-new business bringing a much-needed local barbershop service to the village. Welcome to Lynton, Jenny!

🎨 GALLERY @500 – MORE TO DISCOVER!
Queen Street has another new addition, with the extension of Gallery @500! ✨ Step inside and browse the shop front, now filled with beautiful statement art and stylish homeware. Whether you're looking for something special for your home or simply fancy a browse, there's plenty to catch your eye.

🐾 THE LYN VALLEY DOG HOUSE – NEW HOME!
The Lyn Valley Dog House has moved to a new home on Churchill! 🐶 Jacquie and the team are ready to welcome all their four-legged customers, so pop in this summer and pick up a treat (or two… we won't tell them! 😉).

🎨 BRACKEN CRAFT GALLERY – A NEW CREATIVE CORNER!
Tucked inside Lynmouth Pottery, you'll now find Bracken Craft Gallery. Created by Jess, co-owner of Lynmouth Pottery, this new gallery celebrates beautiful handmade work from talented makers and craftspeople. 🎨✨

🎄 MAD 4 CHRISTMAS… ALL YEAR ROUND!
Mad for Christmas has had a makeover and is now Mad 4 Christmas & All Seasons! 🎄🌸 Christmas is still very much part of the magic, but now there's something to discover whatever the season. Cathryn and Sarah are waiting to welcome you!

🏡 HELLO, THE LYN VALLEY!
The former Lyn Valley Guest House has had a refresh and is now The Lyn Valley. And there’s more… it now has a fabulous daytime café too! ☕🍰 Pop in for a delicious treat beside the river. The Vickery family, formerly of The Rising Sun, are back at the helm with this new B&B and eatery.

🍦 A LITTLE TASTE OF ITALY HAS ARRIVED!
Say hello to Onda Gelato, a brand-new addition to Lynmouth Harbour! 🍦🇮🇹 Mark and Andy are bringing delicious gelato to the waterfront – because surely no harbour stroll is complete without an ice cream?

⚡ THE LIGHTNING TREE HAS MOVED!
Sally and The Lightning Tree have found a new home! 🕯️ You'll still find the same unique range of handmade candles and home gifts, just in a brand-new setting. Make sure you pop in and say hello!

🌿 THE CURIOUS GARDEN TEA ROOM
There's something new brewing at The Bath Hotel in Lynmouth! 🫖 The Curious Garden Tea Room offers an elegant and relaxing setting for exceptional fine loose-leaf teas from around the world, handcrafted cakes and traditional Devonshire Cream Tea. Whether you're catching up with friends, celebrating a special occasion or simply taking a well-deserved pause, it's the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. 🍰🌿

🐟 THE HARBOUR SHED FISH & CHIPS
Another string to the bow of Liam & Matt, the team behind Restaurant Kensington! 🎣🍟 The Harbour Shed Fish & Chips in Lynmouth is now part of their growing food family, bringing their experience and passion for great food to this much-loved harbourside favourite. A new chapter for The Harbour Shed – and we're looking forward to seeing what Liam, Matt and the team bring to the table!

🍽️ ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM – SOMETHING NEW TO EAT!
The Bath Hotel in Lynmouth has welcomed its new in-house restaurant, Elephant in the Room. 🐘🍽️ A brand-new dining option bringing something fresh to Lynmouth's food scene.

🍻 THE ROCKFORD INN – A NEW CHAPTER!
Back in January, Jess and Pete took the helm at The Rockford Inn, starting a new chapter for this much-loved Exmoor pub. 🍻 And they've certainly been keeping busy – BBQs, quiz nights, pop-up menus, a Beer Festival and an upcoming Cider & Sausage Festival are just some of what's been happening!

Got a Monday BBQ craving? Natasha and Roy from ExmoorBBQ now have a regular spot at Lynmouth Holiday Retreat every Monday! 🔥🍖 Another delicious reason to head down the valley.

🥾 Walk of the Month – Holdstone Down Circular Walk 🌌

Short, scenic and full of mystery — this high-level wilderness walk is perfect if you’re looking for big views, open space and a touch of local legend!

Set high above the Heddon Valley, Holdstone Down offers wide open landscapes, ancient history and even tales of UFO sightings. Whether you’re here for the views, the fresh air or a bit of fun with the kids spotting the famous pebble arrows, it’s a brilliant short adventure.

🌿 What to expect:
• Open moorland paths with spectacular panoramic views
• A peaceful high-level wilderness feel
• Ancient settlements and fascinating local history
• A great spot for stargazing (and maybe alien spotting 👽)
• Easy access with several scenic routes to the summit

🎭 This July, the Valley of Rocks becomes nature's greatest stage...

Step into the haunting world of Charles Dickens' The Signalman as Pleasure Dome Theatre returns to the spectacular Valley of Rocks to celebrate 10 years of unforgettable open-air performances.

Known for bringing world-class theatre to one of the UK's most breathtaking natural settings, Pleasure Dome Theatre presents this atmospheric new production in partnership with the Landmark Theatre. Set against the dramatic cliffs of the Valley of Rocks, this South West adaptation explores themes of mental health and rural isolation, inspired by the impact of the Beeching cuts.

🥾 Walk of the Month – Watersmeet & Chiselcombe Circular 🌿

A beautiful mix of riverside paths, woodland trails and dramatic coastal views — this circular walk showcases some of the very best scenery around Lynmouth.

Starting in Lynmouth, you’ll follow the peaceful river path to Watersmeet, before climbing up through Chiselcombe towards Countisbury for breathtaking valley views. The route then winds through woodland to Beacon Tor, where a short detour rewards you with one of the finest viewpoints towards Foreland Point — before returning to Lynmouth along the South West Coast Path.

🌿 What to expect:
• Tranquil riverside walking to Watersmeet
• Steep but rewarding climbs with stunning valley views
• Woodland paths through Wester Wood
• Incredible coastal scenery from Beacon Tor
• A chance to spot peregrine falcons along the cliffs

Our villages have been brought to life by the amazing creativity of local businesses and residents, with iconic film characters popping up around every corner. It's been wonderful to see so many people exploring Lynton & Lynmouth and enjoying all the fantastic displays.

We're absolutely delighted that Lynmouth has been voted the Best Seaside Town in Devon by more than 5,000 Which? members! 🎉

We might be a little biased, but we couldn't agree more! ❤️

From peaceful woodland walks to Watersmeet, sea glass hunting along the beach, and breathtaking coastal views, to our wonderful independent shops, cosy cafés, welcoming pubs, fantastic restaurants and, of course, the world-famous Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, there's something truly special about our little corner of Exmoor.

This award is a wonderful recognition of everything that makes Lynmouth such a memorable place to visit, but it's also a celebration of the incredible local businesses, volunteers and community who work so hard to make visitors feel welcome all year round.

🎬🌾 The Lynton & Lynmouth Scarecrow Festival 2026 is NOW OPEN! 🌾

Lights, camera... scarecrows! 🍿✨

The wait is finally over as the Lynton & Lynmouth Scarecrow Festival officially begins today!

This year's theme is Film, and the villages of Lynton, Lynmouth and the wider Lyn Valley have been transformed with an incredible collection of handmade scarecrows inspired by the magic of the movies. From beloved family favourites to iconic film characters, there's plenty to discover around every corner.

Whether you're visiting for the day or staying a little longer, enjoy exploring the villages, uncovering each fantastic display, and experiencing everything our beautiful area has to offer along the way. Be sure to pop into our local shops, cafés, pubs and attractions as you explore.
