We’re pleased to share our new book displays this week, highlighting Loneliness Awareness Week and Carers Week 8–14 June 2026.

Our Loneliness Awareness display features a thoughtful selection of books exploring connection, wellbeing, and practical ways to
combat loneliness in our communities.
Whether you’re looking for inspiration, reassurance, or ideas to help support others, these titles aim to remind us all of the importance
of reaching out and staying connected.

Alongside this, our Carers Week display shines a light on the incredible and admirable carers of all ages. Caring can take many forms, and
this week provides an opportunity to recognise and appreciate those who give so much of themselves to support family members,
friends, and loved ones. We are truly grateful for everything carers do.

We invite you to visit the library, explore these displays, and discover resources that inform, support, and bring people together.

This month’s theme is Locally Grown, celebrating books of all kinds connected to Dorset.

The display showcases authors who were born in Dorset, alongside a wide variety of titles set in the county
or inspired by its landscapes, history and communities.

From fiction and poetry to memoirs, history and children’s books, there is plenty to discover. Whether you’re

What’s on at Lytchett Matravers Library!

Join us on Saturday 30 May, 10am–12pm for a fun Creation Station session, where we’ll be making
beautiful tulip crafts.
It’s a great opportunity for children to get creative and enjoy a relaxed morning at the library.
All welcome.

Looking ahead to next week, our regular library events will be taking place as usual,
offering something for all ages to enjoy.
