Over the next few days, Lytham Green will become home to one of the UK’s biggest seaside music festivals.

For locals, seeing the first fences and construction crews arrive is when festival week suddenly feels real.

☀️ Next week is looking very different.

23°C on Sunday.
25°C on Monday.
And up to 26°C by Thursday and Friday.

The kind of forecast that suddenly has everyone checking their diary and wondering if a trip to the seaside might be a good idea.

Beach huts filled with birthday celebrations.
Children disappearing off to build sandcastles.
Ice creams that melt faster than you can eat them.
And long evenings spent watching the world go by on the promenade.

☀️ Another hot day on the coast.

While temperatures on the promenade are climbing into the mid-20s, the sea is much colder than many people realise.

The RNLI are reminding people this week that cold water shock can happen even during hot weather.

If you’re heading to the beach today, take extra care around the water, keep an eye on children and be cautious with inflatables in offshore winds.

If you unexpectedly find yourself struggling in the water, try to float on your back and control your breathing.

Did you know the sea can still be cold enough to trigger cold water shock during a heatwave?

Not every beach hut day is buckets and spades.

Sometimes it’s fresh strawberries, warm scones, clotted cream and a proper afternoon tea by the sea.

This lovely afternoon tea was delivered straight to one of our beach huts this morning by Let's bake it happen . Their story today shows the scones being made fresh, and they look amazing.

We love seeing all the different ways people enjoy their beach hut - birthday celebrations, family get-togethers, catching up with friends, or simply slowing down for a few hours beside the sea.

The big question is…
