It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of a fellow crew member from Skegness, James Porter.

James was a dedicated volunteer crew member at Skegness, serving his station and community with commitment, courage and kindness. His contribution to the RNLI family will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with James's family, friends and all at his station during this difficult time.

Fair winds and following seas, James.

RNLI Mablethorpe welcomed Wendy, Lynn and Derrick today from Maltby Le Marsh Village Hall, who presented the station with a very generous £200 donation.

The village hall held a curry and quiz night in aid of Mablethorpe Lifeboat Station and we would like to thank everybody who took part especially those who donated.

Wendy also, very kindly, baked a gigantic cake for the crew, who very much enjoyed a slice after their exercise on Sunday.

Without your support and help we couldn’t continue our mission - saving lives at sea!

Thankyou 🌊

Huge congratulations to crew members Ben and Rio for completing their Crew Emergency Procedure course at the RNLI College in Poole.

The Crew Emergency Procedures course is designed to give lifeboat crew members the essential skills needed to handle emergency situations effectively.

During their training Rio and Ben engaged in various critical exercises, including capsize drills, lifejacket usage, pyrotechnics and equipment handling.

Congratulations boys, everybody here at Mablethorpe RNLI couldn't be prouder 💛

🚨Joint training exercise 🚨

On Tuesday evening as part of Operation Atlantis and the Atlantis Alliance we joined forces with our RNLI Lifeguards, Lincolnshire Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Lincolnshire Police and National Coastwatch Mablethorpe for a combined training exercise.

These exercises are vital in ensuring all agencies can work seamlessly together when responding to incidents along the coastline. By training side-by-side, crews are able to develop their understanding of each other’s capabilities, equipment and procedures.

To finish off the evening we were joined by our colleagues from RNLI Skegness. They brought their all-weather lifeboat Joel And April Grunnill and were able to carry out a towing exercise with our Atlantic 85 Jacquline Saville.

Many thanks to everyone involved, giving up their evening to help strengthen their skills. It was a fantastic training session and a great opportunity to prepare for the busy summer season ahead.

🚨🌊 You’ll See Us. You’ll Hear Us. But There’s No Cause for Concern. 🌊🚨
Between 5pm and 9pm, you may notice a large emergency service presence across the Mablethorpe coastline.
This is a major joint training exercise part of Operation Atlantis and the Atlantis Alliance.
Tonight's exercise involves -
👮‍♀️ Lincolnshire Police
🚑 HM Coastguard
🚤 RNLI Lifeboat and RNLI Lifeguards for Lincolnshire
🔭 National Coastwatch Institution
As we head into the busy summer season, our teams are coming together to train, test and strengthen how we respond to coastal emergencies.
✔️ Realistic scenarios
✔️ High visibility activity
✔️ Serious training to keep people safe
🔹 This is a planned exercise
🔹 No action is required from the public
🔹 All activity is controlled and supervised
Exercises like this ensure that when real incidents happen, our emergency services are ready to act fast, together, and effectively.
A spokes person from Lincolnshire Police, said:
“Tonight's training is about making sure that all agencies who protect our coastline are fully prepared to work together when it matters most. These exercises allow us to test our joint response, strengthen communication, and ensure we are operationally ready as we head into the busy summer period.
While people may see a significant emergency service presence, this is a planned training exercise and there is no cause for concern. It also highlights the fantastic work carried out by our officers, partners, and volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the public safe.”
Thank you for your understanding and for supporting the people who work and volunteer to keep our coastline safe.
