Shops, Cafes, coffee shops, resturants and businesses are getting ready for the first ever Macclesfield Coffee Festival tomorrow!

We know *whisper it* Christmas is a way off yet, but we found a gift in the office and we started to unwrap it before we were caught by Laura the Town Clerk!

We only managed to expose a tiny bit - wonder what it could be?!

We love the effort you have put in to your little poem, and we also love how much everyone has got on board with the Coffee Festival.

It has been a long standing comment amongst the naysayers in Macclesfield - "not another coffee shop" - so we thought, why not make something out of it.

There are some REALLY good coffee shops in Macc, and equally some REALLY good shops serving coffee! The way people use town centres is changing, and one of the ways is people meeting up for a brew and a chat with friends. Go in any of the coffee shops in town between 11-2 and they will be full. And hopefully this Saturday they will be full ALL day!

Final warning for this weekend - please drink responsibly - we are not responsible for the jitters if you drink too much caffeine ☕

It's time to get booked onto the Mayor of Macclesfields Christmas Wreath Making.

All money raised is in aid of the Mayor's two charities and

£40 gets you all your equipment - although you are welcome to bring an apron and gloves - and all the foliage you could possibly want to create your wreath. With cinnamon sticks, lotus heads and dried fruit to add embelishments and some beautiful ribbon to finish it all off, this will be the perfect thing to hang on your front door this Christmas.

We are using it as a venue for some of our Halloween workshops and it would appear not everyone knows where it is.

We've got over 50 businesses taking part in the Pumpkin Trail this year.

Our pumpkins come from Libby’s Patch Farm and are delivered to the shops by our Macclesfield Town Ranger team.

Shops and businesses then have a couple of days to decorate their pumpkins, be it traditional carving or maybe something more creative such as painting it or covering it in some way.

Come and join us for the trail on the 31st October as part of Spooky Saturday!

Due to the nights drawing in, we have made the decision to move to our winter timetable for Street Sports from Monday 19th October.

From that date until the spring, there wil only be two sessions a week. Both taking place at Lifestyle Fitness and run on our behalf by Macclesfield Community Sports Trust.

Tuesdays session will be a multisport session, whilst Thursdays remains a football only session at the request of the children who attend.

Sessions remain as normal this week, with the change coming into force from Monday.

Last night saw the meeting of Macclesfield Town Council Finance Committee.

6 grants were approved for Just Drop-In, Macclesfield Amateur Swimming Club MASC, St Johns Brownies, The Core Pantry, , and Macclesfield Light Orchestra.
