Don't forget our Street Sport sessions for kids run 4 times a week and continue through the summer holidays. Three of the sessions are multisports and could be anything from tennis to basketball, and the Thursday session will always be football.

These are drop in sessions for children between the ages of 7-16, no need to book, just turn up with appropriate clothing and a drink.

Macc-Pow! Comic Art Festival returns with another fabulously full weekend celebrating comic book art in the heart of Macclesfield in Cheshire. This is a truly unique event for the town, that brings together both local and international creators from the world of comic book art, in a leap and one-single-bound! This event allows you to get up-close and personal with legendary comic pros from over the past 40 years of comics and the bright stars of the future, as we celebrate this wonderful world with a diverse mix of amazing creators.
The MAiN COMiCS MARKETPLACE takes place once again in the listed Town Hall Building on Saturday June 27th, 10-4pm with THREE rooms bursting with incredible creators exhibiting their work, and a full day of workshops and interactive elements. FREE ENTRY.
We are hosting our FREE, mini comic art film festival at Cinemac (Macclesfield’s independent cinema) starting 25th of June screening classic, comic related films and a very special documentary premiere screening, showcasing how the medium leaps from the page onto the big screen and back again.
There will also be a full weekend of creative workshops, and interactive elements from 27th-28th of June in the Town Hall, Macclesfield Library, The Button Warehouse, Flour Water Salt , Silk Museum and more! Room for comics (Macclesfield’s comics and cartoon art studio) will be hosting a FULL day of comic art workshops (Tickets coming soon) on Sunday 28th June. Bringing international and national creators into our great town each year, allows us to showcase comic art in all its glory, introducing the town to this wonderful world. This will be a weekend unlike any other, so if you have a passion for comics, or are totally new but intrigued by the medium, make sure you put Macc-Pow! on your creative calendar!

It's an emotional day in the MTC office today.

Our WONDERFUL Events Officer Rachael is leaving for pastures new.

She has created some amazing events over the last 4 years, and will leave a lasting legacy in the town in the form of 1261.

Councillors and staff would like to wish her all the best for her future and thank her for everything she has done for us! We will miss you Rachael!

Reminder that there is no Park Fit tonight due to the extreme heat.

We want people to get fit , not faint due to heat stroke and dehydration.

Get your feet in the paddling pool and a hanky on your head instead of sweating it out at Park Fit

Cancelled for this week (Thursday 25th) due to the forecasted high temperatures.

Good morning all

Due to the high temperatures expected tomorrow (Thursday 25th June) we have made the decision to cancel Park Fit for this week.

The whole point of Park Fit is to get our heart rates up and enjoy the exercise. It would therefore be unfair to expect people to turn up in what is being forecast as 31 degree weather and put in the graft! And even if you did, we are pretty sure you wouldn't enjoy it!

So we encourage you all to stay hydrated at home and enjoy the breeze from your fans and we will see you next week.
