"Andy Burnham is about to start taxing you for watching YouTube.

Labour are set to extend the licence fee to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon and YouTube.

Why?

One Whitehall source said the money should be spent on journalism to counter the rise of Reform.

It's clear. Labour can't beat us by fair means so they're trying to stop us by foul means.

Reform will scrap the TV licence fee entirely."

That's right, REFORM will CANCEL the TV LICENCE. Remember, people have gone to PRISON for refusing to pay a court fine for not paying their TV licence!

PEAK CLUSTER OPPOSED IN ITS CURRENT FORM. A BIG DAY FOR OUR COMMUNITIES

Yesterday, Reform UK Macclesfield committee member Mark Winder attended the full Cheshire East Council hearing to debate the controversial Peak Cluster carbon capture and CO₂ pipeline proposals.

Mark secured a slot to put a question directly to the council, raising one of the most important issues facing residents. Public safety and the need for an independent assessment before this project can be allowed to progress.

His question received a huge round of applause from members of the public in the gallery, along with support from many Cheshire East councillors. It was a clear indication of just how seriously these concerns are being taken.

Before asking his question, Mark delivered a preamble highlighting the need for independent scrutiny and guaranteed funding for a comprehensive, site-specific safety assessment, with funds ring-fenced before any commissions are granted by Peak Cluster.

His question was

“What independent, site-specific evidence does Cheshire East Council currently have that residents could be safely protected and evacuated in the event of a catastrophic CO₂ release, who has independently verified that evidence, and what guarantee is there that the necessary independent assessment will be funded?”

Mark was not the only Reform supporter in attendance. Members from other Reform UK branches also came along, demonstrating that opposition to these proposals extends beyond Macclesfield and that communities are determined to have their concerns heard.

Following a heated debate, Cheshire East Council voted, unanimously, to oppose the Peak Cluster proposals in their current form.

That is a significant result.

It sends a clear message that these proposals cannot simply be pushed through without properly addressing the concerns of the communities that would live with the consequences.

We have consistently argued that residents deserve answers, independent evidence and proper safeguards before decisions of this magnitude are made.

Yesterday, those concerns were put directly to the council, and the proposals faced a decisive political setback.

This is what campaigning is about. Turning up, asking the difficult questions and holding decision-makers to account.

POYNTON OUT IN FORCE 💙

A big thank you to everyone who turned out last night to help deliver our positive message across Poynton.

We set ourselves a target of over 1,000 leaflets and managed to get 80% of them through residents’ letterboxes in one evening. A fantastic effort and a real demonstration of the commitment and determination within our team.

While others watch from the sidelines, we’re out on the streets, reaching residents and making sure our message gets heard.

We’re building momentum, getting organised and putting in the groundwork for the elections ahead.

And we’re only just getting started.

A well-earned rest afterwards? Absolutely. The less said about the photographic evidence, the better!

WHAT WILL REFORM DO FOR BUSINESS?

Small businesses are the backbone of Macclesfield. They create jobs, support families, keep our high streets alive and put so much back into our local community.

Yet too many business owners are struggling with rising costs, energy bills, taxation and unnecessary red tape. The people who work hardest often feel they are the ones being squeezed the most.

At Reform UK Macclesfield, we believe businesses deserve to be supported, listened to and given the opportunity to grow.

WHAT WOULD REFORM DO NATIONALLY?

1. Raise the personal tax-free allowance from £12,570 to £15,000, allowing people to keep more of what they earn.

2. Raise the VAT registration threshold from £90,000 to £150,000, giving smaller businesses more breathing space to grow.

3. Reverse Labour’s increase in employers’ National Insurance, reducing the cost of employing British workers.

4. Support apprenticeships through a proposed wage credit for employers and a £2,000 retention bonus for apprentices who stay with their employer after completing their training.

5. Reduce unnecessary bureaucracy and regulation that makes running a small business more complicated and expensive.

6. Tackle energy costs by removing government-imposed policy costs from energy bills, expanding domestic energy production and supporting further oil and gas development in the North Sea. The aim is to improve energy security and reduce costs for households and businesses.

These are national policy proposals. Our view is simply that people who take the risk of starting a business, employ others and contribute to their community deserve a fair chance to succeed.

SO WHAT ABOUT MACCLESFIELD?

Our local commitment is to campaign for FREE PARKING in council-owned car parks.

We want to encourage people back into our town centre, increase footfall and help our independent shops, cafes, restaurants and other local businesses compete.

We also want local businesses to have a stronger voice in decisions made by Cheshire East Council, with greater scrutiny of spending and a genuine understanding of how council policies affect those trying to make a living.

We know that behind every small business are real people, often putting in long hours, taking financial risks and making personal sacrifices to keep their doors open.

We cannot promise to solve every problem overnight, and local councillors cannot deliver national tax changes. But we can listen, campaign for change, challenge decisions that hurt local businesses and be honest about what can be achieved.

A thriving high street means more than busy shops. It means jobs, opportunity, community pride and a town centre people want to visit.

That is what we want to work towards for Macclesfield. Check out our policy document, setting out how we will support small businesses when we get into power.

Is Labour’s Britain beginning to resemble Orwell’s Animal Farm and 1984?

In Animal Farm, Orwell wrote, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Labour promised fairness, change and higher standards. But are those in power really held to the same standards as everyone else?

Labour politicians reportedly received £300,000 in freebies linked to Manchester City and the United Arab Emirates, while Andy Burnham oversaw a £55 million taxpayer loan to the Gulf state. One rule for the public, another for the political elite?

Then there’s 1984, where controlling the narrative is everything.

Andy Burnham has claimed Russia interfered in the 2016 Brexit referendum, saying he received a “clear answer” that it did. But where is the evidence? Who provided it, what did it show, and can the public scrutinise the basis for such a serious claim?

Foreign interference must be taken seriously, but so must transparency.

Concerns about restrictions on protest, freedom of expression and the treatment of dissent also deserve proper scrutiny.

Orwell’s warnings were never just about fictional dictatorships. They were about what happens when those in power demand one set of rules for themselves and another for everyone else, while expecting the public to accept their version of events without question.

Our freedoms should never be taken for granted so it raises the question, are our freedoms being protected, or are we allowing them to be gradually eroded?

Tim Roca says our future lies in Europe and that Britain should one day rejoin the EU. Disgraceful, but hardly surprising from Labour.

For ten years, the Remain camp refused to accept the result of a democratic referendum. We had endless attempts to frustrate Brexit, arguments over hard Brexit and soft Brexit, and constant pressure to reverse the decision. We were warned this would happen. Leave today’s door open and tomorrow they will try to drag us straight back in.

Now Tim Roca thinks he knows better than the millions who voted to leave.

Have a look at the state of the EU. Economic stagnation, political division, rising tensions and an organisation that has repeatedly put its own interests ahead of those of its member states. These are the people Labour wants us to trust with our future again?

Britain is the fifth-largest economy in the world. We have the talent, the businesses and the ability to trade globally without surrendering control to Brussels. Our future does not depend on rejoining a political project we voted to leave.

And let’s be clear about the figures. The OBR’s estimate of a long-term hit to productivity is a forecast, not a bill marked “Brexit losses” sitting on a table waiting to be collected. It is not proof that rejoining the EU would recover £100 billion a year, nor that the money would suddenly appear for the NHS, schools and roads.

If Labour genuinely believes rejoining is the answer, let them explain the price, the conditions and what powers they are prepared to hand back to Brussels.

Tim Roca says any return must be decided by the public. Fine. But why is Labour already laying the groundwork for reversing Brexit rather than respecting the decision people made?

We voted to leave. We should be building on that decision, not spending the next decade trying to undo it.

Last week Labour mouthpiece, Kevin Maguire was telling the nation on television that Brexit caused the small boats crisis in the UK. Yet on last night’s BBC Question Time, he openly admitted the crisis is happening across Europe, including Italy. This is typical Labour. One hand they tell us one thing and then completely contradict themselves.

Britain does not need to rejoin the EU. It needs a government that believes in Britain. Vote Reform to end this madness 💙

THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION COULD BE A VERY DIFFERENT STORY.

We need to stop obsessing over daily headlines and opinion polls and start looking at how general elections are actually won.

In 2024, we received more than four million votes as Reform UK but won just five MPs. The Liberal Democrats won 72 seats with fewer votes than us.

Our challenge isn't simply to win more votes nationally. It's to turn our support into parliamentary seats.

There are 650 constituencies in the UK. We need 326 seats for an overall majority.

We don't need to win everywhere. We need to identify the constituencies we can win, put the right candidates in place and build professional, organised campaigns that deliver on polling day.

That's why the reported plan to recruit hundreds of campaign managers to focus on winnable constituencies is so important. We need to campaign smarter, target our resources and make every vote count.

Meanwhile, Labour has to answer for its record in government, and the Conservatives still have the challenge of rebuilding trust. Millions of voters who backed neither party in 2024 will be looking for an alternative. Millions more who stayed at home could make a difference next time.

We have an opportunity to build something very different, but we shouldn't take anything for granted. We have to earn people's support, constituency by constituency.

We don't need to win every argument on social media. We need to win the argument on the doorstep.

Here in Macclesfield, that work starts now. With the local elections in May 2027, we have an opportunity to build our presence, listen to residents and demonstrate that we are serious about representing our communities.

Every conversation matters. Every vote matters. Every constituency matters.

The next general election won't be won by today's headlines or tomorrow's opinion poll.

It will be won by how effectively we organise, where we focus our efforts and what we deliver on the ground.

We know the scale of the challenge. Now we need to get on with the job.

It's happened. Every Labour MP has blood on their hands . We told them this would happen. Conservatives are no better. The system is broken. If you want a serious change of direction for this country, you need to not sit on the fence, you need to have the conviction of character to see through the lies thrown at us from those who fear us. You need to rise up and vote for Reform at every election. Only a vote for Reform will change ANYTHING.
This is a sad indictment of our country. We are literally letting prisoners walk free to commit murder. We warned them this would happen. They carried on regardless
