The slow march from Marxism to Communism

Andy Burnham made his position clear in his maiden speech to Parliament. He wants more devolution.

Of course he does! We are constantly told that devolution means giving power to local communities. But look at what has actually happened to Macclesfield.

We had Macclesfield Borough Council. Then our decisions were moved to the much larger Cheshire East Council in the name of "devolution".

Now we are being asked to accept an even bigger structure covering Cheshire East Cheshire West and Warrington with yet another politician in the form of a Cheshire Mayor, in the name of "devolution"

How exactly does taking decisions further away from Macclesfield give Macclesfield more control?

It doesn't. It gives us less. We don't need more politicians more civil servants or more expensive offices. We already have plenty of government. What we need is better management of the structures we already have and better value for the money taxpayers are putting into them.

Instead we get bigger structures and more bureaucracy while the real problems are kicked further down the road and we are blindly and ignorantly, allowing this to happen in the name of "devolution". In the future, this push for "local control" as they call it, will be regarded as foolhardy, costly and we will be asking ourselves, why? Why did we allow this to happen?

Our town hall has been closed and left to rot while decisions about our town have increasingly been moved further away from the people who live here.

This isn't localism. It is centralisation dressed up as devolution. It is bigger government bigger bureaucracy and less local accountability.

At Reform Macclesfield, we don't agree with it.

We don't believe the answer to poor management is more management. We don't believe the answer to inefficient government is more government.

And we certainly don't believe that taking decisions further away from local people is somehow giving them more power.

The direction of travel is clear, more government, less local control.

And we know where that road leads.

It seems our "work pool" is diminishing by the week and it's only going to get worse this winter.

Unemployment rising, job adverts dwindling, yet Labour just stick their head in the sand and instead go to Sainsbury's and have a go at putting stock on shelves (they didn't rotate so they'd be in trouble from day 1!), whilst asking their largest donor to "create" some breathing space for them.

At Reform we are backing those who want to work, who go to work to keep the wheels of the economy turning. And so, it's only right that we support those doing the hard graft, working to keep people on benefits, working to pay for illegal migrant hotels, hostels, HMOs, healthcare, mobile phones, etc etc.

Under a Reform Government, you WON'T be taxed on your overtime, and why should you? You've worked damned hard to make your life better and so, you should have a break from supporting everyone else and have a little something for yourself.

It's simple. Stop this nonsense. Vote Reform at every opportunity 💙

The MSM don't want Reform and they will try everything to discredit us. Attacks on Nigel and his family, Richard Tice, Zia Yusuf. We did warn that this would come and it's not alien to us. We get called racists, fascists, idiots, vile, nasty all the time by the rainbow worshipping devil cult, mainly.

This winter is about to get real bad. Taxes Higher, Energy Bills Higher, Cost of Living Higher, Inflation Higher, Unemployment Higher and the NHS on its knees.

Migration, crime and the data — Macclesfield deserves answers

For years, the public has been told that there is no meaningful connection between migration and sexual offending.

Yet in several European countries, published statistics show that people from migrant backgrounds can be significantly over-represented in sexual-offence figures compared with their share of the population.

That raises an obvious question for Britain, where is the equivalent data?

The public should not have to rely on speculation, social media claims or competing political narratives.

We need clear, consistent figures showing nationality, immigration status and offending rates, alongside the appropriate population data, so that the issue can be properly scrutinised.

If the evidence shows there is no significant relationship, publish it.

If the evidence shows there are disparities, publish those too. Either way, the British public deserves the facts, no spin, just the data.

People continue to make dangerous journeys from France, a safe country, having paid people smugglers to bring them to the UK.

This raises legitimate questions about whether our asylum system is being used as an alternative route to immigration and whether those with genuine claims are being disadvantaged by a system that is increasingly overwhelmed.

Nearly 39,000 people arrived by small boat in the year to March 2026. Since 2018 almost 188,000 people have made the crossing.

Yet instead of confronting the scale of the problem we continue to see political announcements and gestures.

Andy Burnham has said he will be relentless on small boats. Good. But the British public don't need another slogan. They need results.

While people are demanding action on the boats Burnham seems to have been busy with the sort of things we have come to expect from a Mayor. £2 bus fares. Getting people off the streets for Christmas. Other Mayoral initiatives.

Those things may have their place. But right now there is a much bigger question being asked.

When are you going to stop the boats?
Not another gesture, nott another announcement about smashing the gangs, not another cheque to France and not another initiative designed to make it look like something is being done.

We want the boats to STOP.

The Government has even recently published guidance for asylum seekers explaining that r**e is illegal. Sexual assault is illegal. Domestic abuse is illegal. Sexual offences against children are illegal.

Of course these things are illegal and they should be obvious. But if the Government believes it is necessary to explain these basic principles then surely we are entitled to ask questions about the standards and expectations being communicated to people arriving here.

That isn't racism. It isn't hatred. It is a legitimate discussion about the law. Integration. And the standards we expect from everyone who lives in Britain.

What I find equally frustrating is the way some commentators immediately shut down that conversation. Anyone who raises concerns is branded intolerant or extremist while the very real pressures created by uncontrolled and irregular migration are dismissed.

That isn't helpful either.

We can be compassionate towards genuine refugees while still believing that Britain must control who enters the country. How they enter. And whether they have a legitimate right to remain.

We can support legal immigration while opposing illegal entry.

We can believe in helping people fleeing persecution without believing that anyone who reaches Britain by small boat should automatically be allowed to stay.

The British public aren't stupid. They can see the boats. They can see the pressure on our asylum system and public services. They can see successive governments promising action and failing to deliver it.

So the question is simple, how much longer are we expected to accept a system that clearly isn't working?

If you want to see the boats stopped, our borders properly controlled and the immigration system fundamentally reformed then there is a democratic answer.

Vote Reform at every opportunity 💙

Don't be distracted by the vitriol or the smears from those who oppose us. Judge us on what we say. What we stand for. And ultimately what we deliver.

The British public deserve better than endless gestures and promises.

They deserve a government that puts the interests of this country first.

And above all they deserve to see the boats STOP. 💙

Back in April we reported on the latest damning verdict from NHS England,.on the poor performance of East Cheshire NHS Trust in recording "excess deaths".

We had people jumping on the bandwagon trying to shout down the official reports, accusing us of making it up, being inflammatory and using feelings instead of facts to try and dispute our report.

There is the common misconceptions that Reform will somehow privatise.the NHS, that we will sell off parts of it to other providers, none of which are actually true. It's good that people care about the NHS but the constant flow of lies peddled by those who oppose us, is off the scale.

In short, people are sick of being treated like fools, as though we should simply accept the poor state of our public services and be grateful that we have a functioning NHS.

Unfortunately however, things in Macclesfield are getting worse. Much worse.

The problems are real, measurable and impossible to ignore.

Macclesfield A&E is a disgrace. The latest NHS England figures show East Cheshire achieving just 51.6% against the four-hour A&E standard, compared with 75% nationally. That puts East Cheshire 118th out of 118 providers.

Our local hospital, in the bottom 5% in England for what NHS England describes as “excess deaths”. In statistical terms, that means there are more deaths than would be expected based on the benchmark used.

This isn't how it should be. It isn't acceptable.

We should be able to criticise the NHS without being accused of wanting to destroy it. In fact, if we genuinely care about the NHS, we should be demanding better.

The NHS should be protected from failure, not protected from scrutiny.

Britain deserves an NHS that delivers the outcomes patients deserve. That means being honest about what is going wrong and having the courage to fix it.

Reform will not pretend everything is fine. We will demand better. We will protect the NHS. But protecting the NHS does not mean pretending everything is OK. It isn't 💙

"*MACCLESFIELD HOSPITAL FLAGGED IN NHS “DEATH RATE” WARNING**

New NHS data has revealed that East Cheshire NHS Trust, which runs Macclesfield District General Hospital, recorded 28.6% more deaths than expected, between December 2024 and November last year.

That’s 900 deaths recorded compared to around 700 expected. This performance is one of the 10 poorest of the 202 Trusts in the UK.

This is not a one-off. East Cheshire NHS Trust has appeared in these figures before, and yet nothing seems to change.

There is a deeper structural issue here that rarely gets talked about and Reform Macclesfield Committee member, Jonathan Herod, a former leading Medical Director has commented. "East Cheshire never achieved Foundation Trust status. That is an indicator that there have been either financial or clinical issues for quite some time. That is not a criticism of the NHS staff who are working for us but means it does not have the same level of independent oversight as other providers. Unlike a Foundation Trust, East Cheshire does not have a Board of Governors elected by local people that can hold leadership to account locally. Decisions are driven more by central NHS bureaucracy than by the needs of patients in Macclesfield"

He further commented, "When accountability is weak, problems don’t get solved. They get managed, explained away, or quietly repeated. When problems are identified there are real opportunites for change and improvement. I know that the staff in the hospital are trying to address their issues and to improve outcomes. They need our support locally and we need to do our best to ensure they are given all the resources they require."

At Reform UK we have been clear on this. The NHS does not just need more money, it needs reform. That means restoring local control, introducing real accountability for management, stripping back unnecessary bureaucracy, and putting patients and frontline staff ahead of the system itself.

The reality is that staff on the ground are doing their best in a system that too often fails them. But when leadership is not properly challenged and warning signs keep appearing, trust begins to break down.
