It’s that time of year again — we’re getting ready for the Summer Reading Challenge!

Our theme this year is “Just Read!”, celebrating 2026 as the National Year of Reading.
It’s also especially fitting as we celebrate 25 years of the Summer Reading Challenge in Aberdeenshire Libraries.

Whether you love adventure, mystery, magic, or something totally new, this year is all about discovering the joy of reading in your own way.

Childsmile in Aberdeenshire will be joining our Bookbug Session at Macduff Library on Tuesday 12th May at 10.30am. Come along for some toothy rhymes and advice on dental care for your little ones 😁🦷

Come and join the Childsmile team for a series of special Bookbug sessions in libraries throughout May, celebrating National Smile Month.

These sessions include songs, rhymes and a story for children aged 0–5 years, along with helpful information on dental health and toothbrushing techniques for little ones.
