Allow extra time as journeys may take longer than usual and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. If you feel unwell, seek help from onboard or station staff.

Extreme heat can affect tracks, overhead power lines and trains, meaning services may be delayed or cancelled at short notice, or may take longer than usual due to speed restrictions.

A huge thank you to MWTCymru for a brilliant conference last week, and congratulations on celebrating 35 incredible years! 🎉

Held at The Metropole Hotel and Spa, the event brought together delegates from across the tourism sector to explore industry issues, share ideas, and look ahead at the opportunities shaping our future.

We heard from a fantastic array of inspiring speakers covering a diverse range of topics, including:

It was particularly interesting to hear from Daniel Burgess, Powys County Council, who shared exciting insights into the events coming to the county over the next few years, drawing visitors from far and wide to experience rural Mid Wales, while creating lasting opportunities for our local economy.

🚉 🚌 Pwllheli might be the last stop (or the first depending on which direction you're travelling in) on the Cambrian Coast Line but that shouldn't discourage you from exploring the rest of the spectacular Llŷn Peninsula.

Transport for Wales Trafnidiaeth Cymru fflecsi helps you do just that! Operating from 23 May to 12 September, this flexible, demand-responsive transport initiative is the ideal option for your onward travel. Better Transport Week (Campaign for Better Transport) is the ideal opportunity to highlight this service that connects people and places.

Here's some ideas of things to do and see on the Llŷn Peninsula:

🏖️ Follow the Llwybr Arfordir Cymru / Wales Coast Path to some beautiful beaches where you'll discover magnificent sea glass, crystal-clear waters and thrilling watersport activities.

⛰️ Take on challenging but rewarding hike up the slopes of Yr Eifl, leading to one of the best-preserved Iron Age hill forts in Europe, Tre'r Ceiri Hillfort.

🏘️ Visit Nant Gwrtheyrn, an enchanting former quarrying village nestled in a dramatic coastal valley, housing a Welsh language centre and heritage museum.

⛴️ Catch a boat to Europe’s first International Dark Sky Sanctuary, Ynys Enlli, known as the ‘Island of 20,000 Saints’.

👣 Since our feature of walks from stations was so well received, with more than 48,000 views, we thought we would feature each walk individually and take a closer look.

This route from Aberystwyth railway station includes some coast and riverside walking around Aberystwyth’s south beach and could be extended to include Pendinas hillfort.

📏 Distance: 7.6km / 4.7 miles
🚦 Difficulty: Medium

This walking route is part of Transport for Wales Trafnidiaeth Cymru's partnership with Ramblers Cymru which saw the launch of 22 new station walks.
