Another productive morning! Watercress and reeds removed from the front of Tylers and we cleared the stream. Thank you volunteers-you will sleep well tonight💪! We will be back again in 2 weeks (24/25 Oct weekend) if you would like to get involved - wet and dry jobs available! Meet 9.30am at the Kirkdale end of the path.

Pond works part 1: Amazing work by the volunteers on Saturday morning clearing the stream and trough. Thanks to the regulars and new faces! We continue from 9.30am today…. there’s still plenty to do!

It’s pond works time! Next weekend Sat 10 and Sun 11 October from 9.30am. Volunteers needed to help remove the watercress and w**d from the stream to the skip in Brooks Field. Many hands make light work so if you’d like to get involved please meet at the Kirkdale end of Brooks path. Any questions - contact [email protected]. We’d love to welcome some new faces!

Got a few spare hours tomorrow morning? The next working party at Mangravet Wood will take place on Saturday 3 October at 10am - meet at the barrier in Pheasant Lane. Jobs include bramble clearance in the wood and litter picking the footpaths and surrounding area. Litter pick sticks/bags provided. Wear suitable clothing, footwear and protective gloves advised. Everyone welcome! We would love to meet some new faces!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Loose Neighbourhood Plan consultation presentation evening (29th September). In case you missed it, or you attended and would like to see the slides again, the presentation is available on the Parish Council website at https://www.loose-pc.gov.uk/lnp-emerging-plan. The presentation includes very short summaries of each of the policies proposed in the plan and why they are important.

This Sunday 4th October, there will be another opportunity to discuss any questions you may have about the plan. The Neighbourhood Plan team and a display of key information will be in Loose Pavilion, KGV Field, between 2.00pm and 4.30pm. The team would then love to receive your feedback on the plan. Loose Parish Council is delighted to announce that it is consulting on its draft Neighbourhood Plan and invites residents, local groups, businesses and stakeholders to comment.

There is a Loose Parish Council Planning Committee meeting on Monday 5 October 2026 at 6.45pm at the Loose Pavilion, King George V Playing Field, ME15 9RG. Residents are welcome to attend. The agenda is available on the LPC website.

The Loose Parish Council Planning Committee (PLAN) usually meet fortnightly, dependent on planning applications received. Meetings start at 6.45pm, but can begin earlier if there are a particularly large number of agenda items. The start time will always be published on the specific agenda for that...

This week, find out more about the public consultation on the Loose Neighbourhood Plan and what it proposes for the future of our parish. On Tuesday 29th September in the Parish Pavilion at King George V Playing Field, starting at 7.30pm, there will be a presentation about the plan and why it is important. Do come along to listen to the presentation, view a display of information and maps, and put your questions to the neighbourhood plan team. Doors will open at 7.00pm.
You can also meet the neighbourhood plan team and view the display in the Pavilion between 2.30pm and 5.00pm on Tuesday 29th September and between 2.00pm and 4.30pm on Sunday 4th October. Interested in the future of Loose and helping to influence it? Then please come along to Boughton Parade between 9.30am and 12.00 noon this Saturday 19th September, or call in at the YMCA in Melrose Close between 10.00am and 4.00pm on Tuesday 22nd September.

The Loose Neighbourhood Plan is currently out for public consultation, and members of the Neighbourhood Plan team will be at both venues to share information and answer your questions about the plan's objectives and content. The team will also advise you on how, during the consultation, you can have your say to help shape the plan's approach to a range of important topics: housing provision; the parish's character and heritage; its environment and green spaces; the local economy; our community facilities; and how we travel around.
