Road Closure Notice - Church Street


Openreach - Temporary Road Closure - Church Street, Tovil - 10th November 2026 (Maidstone District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of Church Street, Tovil, from 10th November 2026 with estimated completion by 10th November 2026.

Church Street, Tovil, will be closed from the junction of B2010 Tovil Hill, for a distance approximately 120 metres in a West direction, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 weekday only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Street, Church Road, B2010 Tovil Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow blockage clearance works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.

Your local beat officers, PC Tallon and PC Greenfield, will be holding a Police Community Engagement Surgery at Tesco Superstore, Farleigh Hill, on Thursday 12th November from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

This is a great opportunity to meet your local officers, discuss any concerns affecting your neighbourhood, raise issues relating to crime, anti-social behaviour, road safety, or other community matters, and receive crime prevention advice.

Whether you have a specific issue you'd like to discuss or simply want to introduce yourself and find out more about local policing, please come along for a chat. We are keen to listen to your concerns and hear your views on issues affecting Tovil.

🎉 Great News for Tovil! 🎉

Tovil Parish Council is delighted to announce the installation of a new community defibrillator, funded and purchased by the Parish Council, with the support of Golding Homes with the installation.

The defibrillator is located on the external wall of 1 St Stephens Square, just off Church Street, Tovil.

This life-saving equipment is now in place and available to help protect residents, visitors and anyone who may experience a cardiac emergency in our community.

We hope it will never be needed, but having a defibrillator nearby can significantly improve a person's chances of survival following a cardiac arrest.

Keeping Tovil safe remains a priority, and we are proud to invest in facilities and equipment that benefit our whole community.

Cllrs Abigail Hogg, Alan Smith and Michael Hogg volunteered their time this morning to carry out some staining to the planters to bring them back to life! 🪴

Maidstone Borough Council are installing a replacement bus shelter at the bottom of Tovil Hill today. There appears to be traffic lights in situ.

The works are expected to be completed by 16th October.
