Disabled people in our communities deserve support that helps them live independently and take part in working life. Reform UK plans to scrap working-age PIP and restrict cash support to people with “severe and enduring” disabilities — despite PIP helping with the extra costs of disability whether someone is working or not.

Labour is taking a different approach: eligible disabled people will be able to travel free on buses at any time of day, removing the 9.30am restriction and making it easier to get to work, college and appointments.

We should be removing barriers for disabled people — not putting new ones in their way.

Yesterday, Maidstone Borough Council Labour Group Leader Councillor Maureen Cleator attended the Fielding Park (Golding Homes Redevelopment) Shared Ownership Show Flat Opening in Shepway, where she had the honour of cutting the ribbon! Pictured with Golding Homes CEO, Stephanie Goad.
