💜 Team Abigail's Footsteps visited the Maidstone Dawn Patrol Rotary Club Meeting to receive a cheque for £1,055 which was raised through a charity quiz night.

💜 Alyssa, Abigail’s Footsteps said “The quiz night organised by the Maidstone Dawn Patrol Rotary Club in honour of Abigail's Footsteps was a wonderful evening. We are absolutely blown away by the total raised, and we credit so much of this to your tireless work in promoting the event and ensuring the evening ran so smoothly.”

💜 Natalka Sokolowski, President Elect, said “The Maidstone Dawn Patrol Rotary club is one of three Rotary Clubs in Maidstone that works to support local charities and organisations. Abigail’s Footsteps is such an amazing charity supporting bereaved parents through the most unimaginable grief so we decided to do what we could to try to raise some money to help them with the work they do. The quiz night had a great atmosphere, good community spirit and was a huge success. We were able to raise £1055, exceeding all our expectations, and are very pleased to have been able to donate that to Abigail’s Footsteps.”

Maidstone Dawn Patrol Rotary Club has an annual Christmas carols & music event at M&S Maidstone Eclipse Park.

President Norman Springett, a former Relations Servkent member, chose SERV as his main charity along with Child's Vision a local charity which supports children who have experienced domestic abuse.

SERV Kent more commonly known as blood runners is a group of volunteers entirely self funded who transport urgently needed blood and blood products between the Blood Bank at St George’s Hospital in Tooting to hospitals in Kent; this they do 24/7 365 days a year. They also transport blood and other medical samples, equipment and breast milk. In addition they keep the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex supplied with blood for transfusions.

At our meeting on the 22nd January at Cobtree Manor Golf Club we presented them with a cheque for £1,000. The Club also presented Child Vision with £250.

We are grateful to M&S management and staff for their welcome again this year. M & S supports a charity each year however that weekend, they were happy to support the Rotary Club's chosen charities and the amount raised was split between these two; Child’s Vision being not only a charity supported by Dawn Patrol but has also been supported by M & S over the past two years.
We also thank SERV Kent members for turning out to support us, they certainly added a presence with their marked bikes which didn’t just attract interest from youngsters.

Norman Springett, President of Dawn Patrol Rotary Club of Maidstone accepting from John Marsden a wooden locker for SEN children. John is the Chair of Cobtree Men’s Shed formed to provide a wood working and social activity for men and women. They currently have 29 members who regularly attend (on a shift basis) making wooden items and taking on commissions.
The locker was commissioned by a Rotary club member. The special wooden locker is designed to help improve the hand/eye co-ordination, physical dexterity and strength of SEN children. Soon, Norman will be presenting the locker to Fiona Pender, Manager at Space2 Be Me. Over the years Dawn Patrol has been more than happy to support the charity in its valuable work with disabled children in Maidstone and beyond.
